So if I park mine on the sidewalk, I'm OK, right?

Should I be submitting an article every time my town has a snow parking ban as well?  What about school closings?

Well, the headline might freak out the people in Oregon.

Don't do that!  They recently had a major freak out when they learned that they might have to occasionally pump their own gas.

This is probably trying to do something about the wave of homeless / tweaker / bike thief camper and van that's inundated Portland in recent months.

So if they actually stick to their guns on this, I suspect Seattle is about to see an incoming wave of homeless campers.

Because the whole west coast is sort of under a homeless avalanche right now, and no city of any size gets out of having hundreds of them set up shop.

Modern-day Romani.

No parking on the streets until 6 am, but you have to have your car out of the emergency lot by 6:30 if it's a school.  Brilliant, give everyone a half hour to find a new parking spot.  That won't be chaos at all.

cagers

Look, shlubby, I hate the fact there's so many farking cars as the next guy, but even in a town like Portland, the public transportation doesn't totally take the place of a car, especially if you have a family.

Fark?

Off?

No problem, I'll just take that new Amtrak railway they just put in near I-5.....

Nope. It's a snow-ban - keeping cars off the street so they can plow.  But nice assumptions there.  I'm sorry that the article was too long for you at all of four complete sentences.
(not counting the list of places people can park their cars)

I've always heard it from motorcyclists.

Not sure they're in a position to gloat in this instance since the reason for the ban is big piles of snow...

Article sort of fails to mention that it's Maine, and not "another Portland".

Well they have to clean the roads after it snows, so I guess this makes sense.

I do not miss living somewhere where I have to park on the street.  It was such a constant hassle and irritation.  One time I stumbled out of bed bright and early to move it to the other side of the street only to trip stepping off the curb and I sprained my ankle because I was still half sleeping.  I ended up missing 3 days of work (was a bartender at the time).

I was driving through Slovenia once, and was about to check out the city of Piran. The entrance to the city had a big gate and guards who said "Nope, sorry. The city is full. Come back tomorrow"
They had run out of parking spaces. It's now a running joke in my family.

"Do you want to go to New York?" "Nope. It's full, sorry."

Given the autoplay carp on that page, I'm betting a lot of people won't actually make it to the article. Kind of makes it a shiaty set up.
