It's called schadenfreude (sp?) In Germany. It is not a purely Philly thing. And it got them plenty of free publicity, so it was smart too.

Meh.

I'm ok with goofy things to celebrate a championship. This is fine, and so was the 283 diamonds in the ring last year. This Steven A. Smith "That is so DISrespectful" shiat is boring.

I'd blame the pass for being a touch overthrown (or Brady for being a touch too slow) more than Brady's hands.

Look, I know that this is about donuts.  But going back to the play in question...

It was amusing when Brady missed the catch.  We all had a good chuckle.  It REALLY drive the humor home when the Eagles did the exact same play (correctly) on the next drive!  dpoisn.com

That was the point in the game where they were showing that it wasn't enough to simply beat the Patriots.  They had to embarrass them too.

Yeah -- if you think knocking the effing ball out of their hands makes them a "butter fingers" I guess I'm totally in the wrong

"Butter Fingers" apples to klutzes who drop things on their own. Hence the term. Knocking something out of someone else's hands and then calling them a "butter fingers" just makes you an asshole

Brady did nothing wrong, he was looking for a receiver and trusting that his O-line would have his back. The blame on the play goes to the o-line who didn't do their effing job. If you think the QB's job is to be looking around all willy nilly to make sure he isn't going to be sacked, you clearly have no effing clue

He wouldn't have scored but that pass was a soft lob coming in, slowly, from a high angle with no defender anywhere close. Brady catches that same ball ten times out of ten in practice - he blew it. he's amazing and he played a magnificent game but for whatever reason pats fans want to give him a break on that easily catchable ball. Guarantee you he thinks he should have caught it and so does Bellichick. Yeah, the ball could have been three inches lower. But he has several strides in the clear to run under that that floater. It went off his hands but he blew it with his feet.

Basically, if he can't catch THAT ball, you have no business calling the play in the first place. Really tired of hearing how terrible this pass was.

Would have been a nice conversion but I agree. that's why I find the penchant for bailing Brady out so odd. No one is saying he blew the game for them. He played an amazing game. One for the ages. During that amazing performance he blew a catch you'd expect anyone to make. It's not some kind of insult to the guy to point it out. It's funny.

Factually incorrect?  I guess you missed the game on Sunday.  As for mean spirited, let's fetch you some clutching pearls and a fainting couch.

I think any human being would have the ball stripped away when their upraised arm gets hit by a 300 lb. linebacker's arm colliding with them at full speed.

Like when Matt Ryan had the ball stripped by Hightower which was the turning point of the last Bowl.

That was more on Freeman completely blowing his block.

Both cases someone missed their block. I was agreeing with you. I was just pointing out both plays were the turning point in the Bowl. This time it happened to Brady.

DRTFA: AdamK: Technically it never touched his fingers in the first place.

I call shenanigans.

Actually I take it back, hadn't seen the play since the live game, thought it went just outside his outstretched hands. Still, hard to catch a ball with the tips of your fingers, Brady needs to work on his speed so he can get under the ball.

Keep your vegan donuts.  Go to the best donut place in Philly, and probably the best in the US.

Federal Donuts got The Iggle.

And here I thought you were making a "it touched his gloves, not his fingers" joke.
