Ha. As if I had a non-embarrassing moment from my teen years! Good one, subby!

There's a great comedy show called Mortified that's similar to The Moth in which people read from their teenage diaries or recount tales from their youth that are, as you might guess, mortifying. Highly recommended if it's available within a 50 mile radius of you.

I think I saw what you did there.

I'm embarrassed that teenaged me wasted money on that stupid cassette tape just because I thought Nuno Bettencourt was kinda pretty.

/actually met Extreme's bass player at an alpaca conference
//wonder if he still raises them

No thanks subby- if the NSA wants to dig up blackmail material on me they'll have to do better than this.

/Is there any point in your teenage years that isn't cringeworthy?

My teenage years are just one long continuum of awkwardness, acne, hairs in weird places and inappropriate erections.

Picking a single embarrassing memory would be like plucking a single grain of
sand from a desert.

Too many to remember. Most of them were because when my voice deepened, it apparently got a lot louder, or at least more audible, akin to whales singing that can be heard thousands of miles away. I still have this problem, but at least I've learned to watch my mouth. Back then... not so much.

Either that or all the dreadful "poetry" I wrote in high school.

Correction to my earlier post: it may have actually been the bass player from Slaughter who raised alpacas.  It gets hard to distinguish one blond 90's hair-band bassist from another, sometimes.  Oops.

I'm not really embarassed by any of my musical listenings. The closest thing is that rap\hip-hop\electronic period back I had back in the early 90's, but come on. KLF and Snap, and put out albums that were great and continue to be (Especially as the NES soundtracks they were used as), Das Efx were pretty surreal and bizarre, and I still whip out "wolf in sheep's clothing" now and then, if only to dance around like a goof to a certain hilarious over-the-top nsfw gangsta parody. One EP i had back then that i have not even thought of until just a week or two ago sucked ass save for this oddity, which strikes me now as sounding like a Philip Glass remix so i can see why i loved it.

Just after lunch in high school I felt like I needed to release some gas.  I was pushing so hard I shiat my pants and had to walk home half a mile to change.  I stayed home and played Nintendo the rest of the day.

I remember getting pulled over a lot. I mean it got to the point where there was no "license, registration, proof of insurance" stuff, it was just "boy, wtf are you doing?". Probably not a good thing if every state trooper addresses you by your first name.

/ then, as now, I didn't do quiet tunes

Many game soundtracks on the Commodore 64 were unauthorised copies of Jean-Michel Jarre.

This. Still cringe-y some 30+ years later.

When I was thirteen, I met a new girl in school who was also thirteen.  I don't know what kids do today, but forty years ago  we were still pretty innocent.  BTW this woman and I are still friends.  Anyway, her mom and my mom got together and took us to the park/zoo.   A bird flying over shiat on my head and my mom had to clean it off with that infamous tissue in her purse.   First girlfriend still brings it up when we talk.

/and our song was Leo Sayer's "When I need you"

I bled through my pad during homeroom one very cold December morning. My mother refused to bring me more pads and clothing, so I had to wear someone else's clothes for the rest of the day.

It's one thing to make that choice as an adult and realize it's not the end of the world because you soiled yourself in some way, but 13 year old me in 8th grade swore I was going to die of sheer embarassment.

Two things I learned that day:

A) my mother is a coont
B) tampons are god's gift to periods and fark her puritanical "but you're a virgin" protest

Like shoving a wad of cotton up there is going to make me race out and start chasing every dick I see. Soo dumb, mom. Just retardedly stupid.

Teenage years?  I skipped them entirely going from cradle to working for a living.  Best decision I've ever made!

Maybe change your name if it's "boy".
