Someone bought some kind of sack thing for my first, but I don't remember ever using it because making a swaddle with a blanket is easy as shiat. Second baby was a kicker so it suddenly got nightly use. But at least there were holes for arms, this seems like some kind of infant torture device.

I put mine in a sleep-sack swaddle. In my opinion, if the kid can get his/her arms out, let them be out. Usually, the kids that can do that are starting to be able to turn on their sides or roll, so they need to be able to get their arms out. A swaddle isn't supposed to be a straight-jacket. It's more like curling up tightly under a warm blanket. Some kids loathe having their arms pinned and that will make it harder to calm them down. My son hated having his arms pinned and my daughter is showing the same trend. I'm going to stick with the sleep sack swaddles.

Some of us prefer bijackets.

/don't baby arms normally go wherever the baby wants them to...?

Think I know of the sack you speak of as I too received one when my daughter was born.  Threw it in a cupboard and forgot about it.

15 years later I rediscovered it and found it to be the perfect restraint device when cleaning an *extremely* rambunctious German Shepherd puppies ears.
