In true Musk fashion, the side boosters are both refurbished Falcon 9 first stages. I believe the core is new, based on all of the mods needed to support the side boosters.

Also in true Musk fashion, he admits the launch might fail, even though everything possible has been done to test it.

It's a good thing flying through space ain't like dusting crops.

I really want someone to lean over and whisper "she may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid.", and film the expression on his face.

I want him to look at Elon's Tesla roadster and say "It belongs in a museum!"

It'd be some kind of cross between old man confusion and "get he hell away from me"

At this point, Harrison Ford belongs in a museum

Would it help if Elon got out and pushed?

I think that's his default response to everything these days

Just, no one tell him the odds of success. He hates that.

If they were doing it in true musk fashion they would announce the launch as this Friday and then on Friday they would say it would actually be February of 2020 but we also sell staplers now.

I have to admit, seeing him in TFA threw me as he is rather, er, animated and lucid there, even if he's kinda stuck with the dad/grandpa jokes for most of his screentime. He really is just that shy and taciturn outside of work.

//still doesn't need to be piloting shiat anymore probably

In fairness his staplers would probably also be giant mecha or something. So... worth it?

TFA notes that he's flying into the space coast.

Oops.
