For a game that had no final series, what a ripoff.

TFATickets on the site were up 31% compared to the cost of last year's Super Bowl two days out.

And by halftime they'll be 4000% less.

Almost $24 a minute if you take the average length of a Super Bowl as 3 hours and 44 minutes.

Over $88 per minute of actual game time.

I grew up in Minnesota... there is no way that the increase has to do with locals.  Either they'd stay inside and watch it or they won't.

Your mom works out to about the same rate, but fortunately it never lasts nearly that long.

Ever been to a Super Bowl? They suck. It's rich, awful non-football fans going to see a concert. It's the worst money I've ever spent and I even once got stoned and ordered the Micro-Buddy from an infomercial.

As someone who really hates* Vegas, I guess I'll avoid Super Bowl attendance at all costs (not that I could afford it anyhow).

*Ok. Hate is too strong a word. But I really don't see the appeal.

Ehh, I went down to Nicollet Mall yesterday and saw quite a few more or less regular looking folks wearing Iggles and Pats gear.  Best was a guy in a Brady jersey wearing a goat mask.  I'm positive 'normal' fans will be outnumbered by elites and whatnot, but there seems to be plenty of real fans around town too at least.

Judging based on the gear I'm seeing people wear, it's overwhelmingly Iggles fans. Hopefully most of them didn't take out high interest loans for the trip, unlike last time.

i think its safe to say that bowl attendees r above middle class. their combined "worth" is well over 1 trillion bucks. 1 trillion seconds is approx 31,600 years.

you would be surprised. some like to be around the "action" but cant afford to be a playa. like a voyeur.

u wont find many middle class and lower folk at a super bowl game unless corporate sponsored.

I manage bars in Minneapolis.  This week I've had people from Pittsburgh, Florida, DC, Seattle, San Francisco L.A., New York, and Arizona (as well and the Eagles and Patriots fans) in my spots all week long.  A lot of these folks bought plane tickets and made hotel reservations way back at the start of the season in hopes that their team would be here in the end, and some of them were the type of people that go to the game every year regardless of what team is in it.  Most of them were horrified by our climate, like they could not actually believe that weather like this was possible.  I can't wait til they pack up their shiat and go back to wherever they came from.  This week has been absolute hell for me.

2018-02-04 01:55:28 PM
you can tell the eagles/pats fans. they are the ones standing in front of the skyway map moving their lips as they read.  or they are having loud conversations about their cop life while dropping the f-bomb every 10s, with their stupid accents.

Well the whole thing sounds like it would be a visit into Hell, not just because I don't give a shiat about football so they couldn't pay me to go. Not that anyone invited me of course.
