A Good Place, Becker, Cheers, CSI... how can one man be on the four funniest shows in television history? Ted Danson must have some sort of deal with the devil, is all I can say.

Not to mention Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the criminally underrated Bored to Death.

I like the characters and the first season was pretty funny. The second season got way too convoluted. I killed the DVR timer for it.

Your loss. The 2nd season has been fantastic, imo. Still the best half-hour show on TV, hands down.

Now if People of Earth could just come back...

1)  Kristen Bell is so adorable she should be outlawed.
2) Ted Danson is a comedy genius.
3) Plato jokes.
4) BORTLES!

The Trolley Problem might be the greatest 30 minutes in sitcom history.

Am enjoying the hell out of it. Great writing and acting. And surprising twists. I think S1E2 when the world started to fall apart and they were wearing yellow and black striped clothes with giant shrimp flying in the air. Wow. Did not see that coming. And what an interesting, fresh look.

Haven't quite finished watching S2 yet.

/Can recommend on Netflix: Chewing Gum (what did I just watch), Rake (bit more sit-comy but vv intelligent and funny), The Almighty Johnsons (low brow Norse gods live in New Zealand, hot guys in tool belts), and Crazyhead (what did I just watch).

I think it's safe to say that Michael Schur hasn't brought us anything bad yet:

The Office
Parks and Recreation
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
The Good Place

It's about 25 minutes long, but that's not important right now.

Oh I'm sorry. Maybe they'll add a laugh track in S3 just for you

WTF is "top tier" if not The Good Place? Its well written, well acted and funny as hell. And I've shown it to at least 5 people and every one of them has absolutely loved it

I think maybe you're just too judgmental

Still have to watch the last two episodes, love this show.

2018-02-04 07:30:15 AM
If it was a normal show the ominous note from Jason would have been the season 1 finale cliffhanger. The actual season 1 finale twist would have taken until season 4. All of the stuff that happened in season 2? Never?

2018-02-04 08:10:35 AM
A normal show would have had Eleanor using wacky ways to keep Michael from finding out she wasn't supposed to be there for the entire run.

The plotting is what makes the show work. There's a twist almost every episode -- and they're all set up.

It also rewards rewatching.  You realize how things were set up.  In one, what you think the first time around that Michael is just bumbling.  The second time, you realize that it's part of the torture.

The 2nd season started off rocky and I thought it was circling the drain, but it recovered nicely and now I can't wait to see what happens next.

I really hope the writers have an overall plan and give the series a decent story arc.  I would rather it continue the current pace of storytelling and not drag on indefinitely as long as it's popular.  The Office went on for years too long and ended up with its primary characters (Jim, Pam, and Michael) all becoming completely insufferable.  B99 is great, but is starting to feel a bit long in the tooth.  It should probably do one, maybe two, seasons more and then just end.  It's had a good run and I'd rather it not run itself into the ground.

I was worried they wouldn't be able to pull of such a big twist and keep the show interesting. I was 100% wrong. I've been consistently impressed by the originality of the show, if nothing else.

Dated Whoopi Goldberg wore blackface in public with her.
Was before social media so he survived the event.

One of my greatest hopes is that Maya Rudolph gets bumped to Series Regular for Season 3. Sort of fulfilling the role Michael had in Seasons 1 & 2.

I loved the bit with Jason being the one to figure out the season one twist in one of the time loops and Michael being all "Jason figured it out???  Jason?!?!"

I watched the fist season.  After they Re-booted at the end, I was done with it.  Wasn't willing to get invested in another season just to see them wipe the character growth every season.
