I wouldn't be surprised if she misses. We live near a major Mpls hospital and ER is full of folks with the flu.

This. Getting sick can't be helped. Besides, Justin Timberlake will be at the stadium. Just get him to come out on the field for ten minutes, do the anthem, then get back to final preps for halftime.

There's only one person interested in hearing Orange sing -- Robert Mueller.

if she really has the flu, she shouldn't have went into the stadium. with all the travelers, it could be spread through out the states and quick.

/but seriously, if you have the flu, don't push it.  We don't need another martyr

Back around 2002 or so I came down with whatever killer virus/bug/flu/plague was going around the morning of a gig.  Spent the day vomiting so hard that I tore all the muscles in my gut.  Some time around 6 PM with a 103 degree fever I dropped off my gear at the venue and my bandmates set it up and tuned it for me.  I showed up 20 minutes before stage time with a bucket to put behind the PA speaker.  We soundchecked, played our hour-long set (where I vomited twice again) and caught a ride home where I slept until the next evening.

Ya farking soldier on.  You're a musician, not a surgeon.  Lives don't hang in the balance and the work isn't that hard.  If you don't physically have it then you don't have it....but let's not get too crazy about this.

Yeah. Pretty much EVERY Hospital is full of flu-sufferers. Having said that: why is Pink scheduled to sing? Is she still making music??

Did you win that Battle of the Bands?

Isn't she known for performing live and actually singing while being quite active on stage? If the national anthem takes her out, it must be bad.

Influenza is no joke. I had it once, and that was enough.

The National Anthem at the Superbowl is lip-synched. Pink will be there. This is cheap showmanship nonsense. "Oh lordy, will she or won't she be there? What drama!"

Not at her shows, but everyone has to lip-synch the National Anthem at the Superbowl. Pink couldn't sing it live even she wanted to.

Not a actor or singer but If I was and told I had to lip-synch it I tell them to get bent then Make sure that the word was put out that the reason I was not doing it was cause of that.  The question would be if there be a back lash or not.

A bar gig and a Super Bowl appearance are so, so, so similar. Near identical.

No, but both should require a certain level of work ethic.  And I'm not saying that P!nk lacks a work ethic, she's one of the few that I believe genuinely displays a highly positive one.  But what I am saying is that the job isn't that hard.  She has ALOT of folks who are counting on her to be there whose jobs get alot harder when she goes this route.

So, she may miss the meet and greet and promo pictures and all the other stuff that those that promoter get to use for whatever they're doing and putting together, but you get the job done.

That sucks. I really hope she feels much better soon. She is a very strong person who won't let something like the flu get in her way. Courageous. I"m sure she'll follow through and perform.
