Forget about Kennedy, Hitler, that assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand.  If I could go back in time, I would prevent Buddy Holly, Valens and the Big Bopper from getting on that airplane.  That's not a radical enough change that would destroy the universe, right?

My Dad was in a field in North Dakota waiting for the concert to happen when news came out that they had passed.  It's hard for him to listen to Day the Music Died because he was part of a large crowd that all started crying so it's very personal to him.
I can't listen to it because I always want to break into the Weird Al version and I don't remember enough of the lyrics.
/Maybe Vader someday later now he's just a small fry.
//SRV was a personal loss to me, but my daughter doesn't even know who or what happened.

It should be the day Don MacLean gets kicked in the balls until he pukes.

Song is nothing but a series of whines about people he doesn't like. All of which were substantially more successful than him.

Here's an article listing famous musicians who died in plane crashes. https://goo.gl/tw3AZF

One of the few I found that listed Randy Rhodes. Also, Jim Croce would have been bigger than John Denver (who died in a ultralight crash) away if he hadn't gotten on a plane. I forgot Stevie Ray Vaughn died in a chopper crash. :(

Buddy Holly's wife is still torn up about not accompanying him on that tour due to being pregnant. She said no way he would have gotten on that plane if she was there.
