Wasn't it clear as of BvS that the user reviews as an aggregate are useless. It's apparently childishly easy to game the system.

Marvel: Good stories, great action, hilarious moments (the latest Thor was a blast) and overall fun experiences. More hits than misses.

DC: LESS STORY, MORE BROODING. CRANK UP THE RAIN!

/I'm not a huge comics fan but I'm looking forward to BP.

Yep, as soon as saw that BvS had over 100,000 user reviews before anyone in the world had seen the movie outside of a few small premiere events, I knew that the audience score metric was bullshiat.

I think the internet's experiment with "everyone" being allowed to field their opinion as if it carried equal weight really has to start getting refined.

I am tired of people thinking that their ignorance is as good as my education because our votes both count the same on a movie review website... and for some farking reason the fact that they review movies they haven't seen to sabotage black superheros and women ghostbusters somehow doesn't immediately make them look at their own hands in disgust and horror, uttering the phrase, "my god what have I become?"

Like... these people need to knock it off.  They are only making themselves look bad, and continuing to serve as evidence of my yet to be proven wrong theorem, "The fans of a thing are always the worst part of that thing."

I go with CinemaScore, since they actually conduct surveys at the premieres to generate their composite scores.

Instead of, you know, trusting an open enrollment aggrigator favored by botnets.

Ghostbusters 2016 did suck, to be fair. They pretty much took the exact same formula for the original in 1984 and simply did a gender swap thinking that women would like it just because women starred in it. Honestly the best thing that happened for that movie was that a handful of internet MRAs trashed it, thus making it a cause celebre film.

I look at few things.  First I look at  the metacrtic reviewers score and the RT critics average (not the Tomatometer, that is useless).  Then from there I usually look to reviewers I trust even if I don't always agree with them.  I also  talk to the people I know that know me and get their opinion.

Did you seriously take time to complain about a movie that is now years old...

In response to a comment about how people need to stop wasting their time expressing their trash opinions?

What part of my comment made you think, "I need to make sure people know I hated Ghostbusters"?

Can we finally acknowledge that the same shiat happened with The Last Jedi? A bunch of butthurt EU fans and MRA asswaffles brigaded the fark out of RT for that one, too.

Maybe it's time we finally just accept that the RT "audience score" is a bullshiat measurement that can be manipulated by bots and fake accounts.

I've got a 7 year old son & 6 year old daughter.

We all loved seeing the last Thor in the theater.

We loved GOTG2 (although my daughter cried through the end of the movie after the death scene).

We loved Spiderman: Homecoming On-Demand and I was bummed we didn't see it in the theater.

We'll be there to see this one.The trailers have more than delivered.

It's a somewhat reasonable indication of quality if you just go by the critics' scores. But it's better to find a critic or critics whose views match yours, and go by them.

This is a bit different because of the more mainstream venue they used to promote their plan.  I don't recall a Facebook event dedicated to tanking Thor's reviews last year, though I'm sure that the troll community was planning on doing so.  Combine the public nature of this attempt with the fact that it's a movie with a 98% black cast, and it comes across as racist.

I liked it, it's kind of one of those guilty pleasure types of films where it's not the greatest but it has some great characters and moments at times. Kate McKinnon carried a lot of the movie's humor - she's just so charismatic (and why yes, I do have a celebrity crush on her). I suppose if I could change only one thing about it, though, I'd probably do away with Kristen Wiig's stupid, desperate infatuation with Chris Hemsworth's character. It was painful to watch and didn't add anything to the film at all. Nor, honestly, did making Hemsworth a himbo, but that would be two things.

Very good point. I rescind my previous snark, that is actually really brilliant.
Related, a lot of speculation that the Soul Gem is in Black Panther, but I've yet to see confirmation. It's a good guess (Infinity War trailer has an all out invasion of Wakanda, that can't be a coincidence), but what color is it? Is it going to be a weird shape like the Space, Reality, and Time gems?

But... Black Panther is a villain.

Possibly the worst African dictatorship in all the fictional worlds. Holds an isolationist fortress sitting on top of the water reserves of the continent, refusing to trade or allow passage, withholding technologies that could benefit the world. The only reason the world hasn't stopped him is because he's doing it to black peoples.

Well, yes. It's why we still have a plethora of professional and semi-amateur movie, film and t.v. critics, and RT (seemingly) has a critic score along with the viewer score.

Only the internet has complete faith in one website. It still reminds me that 90% of the internet is filled with Facebook junkies and grandma's typing in Google to Google. But in our quest to be lazy, we willingly killed off RT's competition by declaring it God because it let site visitors vote.

I personally use fark, RT, and 2 unnamed YouTube channels as a source for a movie to watch if I feel like watching something different. Because Wikipedia has always tried to tell us to use multiple sources.
