I'm not sure it needs the help

I thought the NBA did good this week to cockblock the NFL.   Blake Griffen on Monday...LeBron on Wednesday night...good job of spoiling the NFL's weeklong self stroke.

Durant already wrecked this generation of basketball.

LeBron joining Golden State would be so many thousand flavors of awesome.  Even Golden State fans would hate the NBA.

It sounds like Durant might have a problem with this idea, though?  I wonder what his objection would be?

Another ridiculous thinkpiece about Lebron going to Golden State because we're in the doldrums of the NBA season and writers are bored going into the All Star Break?

*clicks link*

Yep.

Lebron is not going to the Warriors, mostly because the Warriors would have to shoot themselves in the dick financially and culturally to make it work. I'll buy he's leaving Cleveland, but there's no way he heads West.

it would almost be no fun

/went to a HS ranked #1 in the nation; scores of 125 to 15 do not make for a good product

Not even sure he leaves Cleveland this off-season. Where would he go? Every team either doesn't have the cap space or  they don't have the players to seriously compete immediately. I think he resigns on a one year deal, then goes elsewhere after the 2019 season when teams will have cleared the deck for that huge free agent class.

also, league needs contraction.

Anthony Davis is supposedly one of the best up and coming talents in the NBA...yet I have watch a single minute of Pelican basketball in the post season.

either spread the talent out (which I am not in favor of) or increase the concentration of talent to fewer teams.

Meh, you tried to do the same thing to Sacramento so no sympathy for you.

It's more so about free agency, the business side of basketball, than it is about the real game. It should be about the game and it's getting father and farther away from the real game.

Yeah. Don't you just hate when people leave teams to go to better teams, Kevin?

LeBron on the Warriors would hurt the Warriors. He doesn't play their style.

The Warriors seem to like one another, why would they want Lebron's drama?

It's bush league psyche out stuff. He's trying to give Klay Thompson some nerves for later. Nobody, NOBODY does that deal unless Klay goes somewhere else, and that's what LeBron wants inside his head.

/the Lakers, on the other hand...

Like the Warriors are gonna throw away what they have built to let Lebron "Primadonna" James wreck things now. The Warriors don't need Lebron to get a ring, but Lebron needs the Warriors to get another ring, which is what this is all about.

AND Seattle is still better off since they didn't shoot themselves in the dick by building a stadium. Downtown/Midtown Sac is ruined now, but in retrospect it's shocking it remained seedy and cheap and loaded with dive bars as long as it did.

So it's okay when the MFLOs did it first, but it's not okay when Seattle tried to do it.  Gotcha.

So are we going to have The Decision 2.0 after this season?

I think he learned his lesson from the fallout after the first one. His move back to Cleveland was handled as elegantly as something involving Cleveland could be. I agree with upthread, though; he's probably signing a one year extension and seeing what things look like next year. There are a handful of teams in the East that go from ECF team to Finals team simply by virtue of adding Lebron. He's certainly not going West where he has to play Golden State and San Antonio in the postseason before it's absolutely necessary.

Me? I say he should to head to Nawlins and play point forward for The Unibrow and Boogie.

exactly. two teams he could never play for are probably the Warriors and the Spurs. He's too ball dominant (rightfully so) for either of those teams.

The problem here is that he's getting older, and arguably worse, and he is NOT adapting like MJ did... LeBron seems like the kind of guy who is so full of himself that he's going to ride the same horse until his career ends.

Which, hey, is great, he's certainly better than Kobe ever was. But the guy really COULD be better... if he would check his ego a bit.

FWIW: I believe Davis and James could work very well together, especially given how both of them can handle/pass. But I do not think Cousins and James+Davis could exist on the same court on the same team, especially with a third big/front court guy who can score. They'd be better off trying to find a way to trade Cousins for either Draymond Green or Klay Thompson, IMHO, if it were a possibility. Or to sign Klay when he inevitably leaves Golden State and let Cousins walk.

Now, if LeBron "stepped back" a bit in the scoring department? Like I said, if he adapted... LeBron to the Pelicans (as a facilitator #1) would make for an INSANE team with Cousins and Davis. I just... can't see him doing it. That's why I've sort of chuckled at this Warriors nonsense, less so about the desire for rings but more so about LeBron playing in Steve Kerr's style of offense (and the Warriors throwing out the baby with the bath water in order to get a guy like that).

Bezos should hire LeBron to announce the  location of the new Amazon headquarters in an hour TV special.

Yeah.... the guy fourth in the league in assists need to step back in scoring? One of the biggest knocks on Lebron has been that he gets too pass happy in certain games instead to just bullying his way to the basket. Do you even watch basketball?
