The bad karma is coming for the reporter who confused West Virginia with Virginia.

Very bad karma.

The trainma hit their dogma. It's karma.

All the politicians were relatively unharmed, but one of the truck drivers was killed. What's the supposed karmic justice here? Does King hate sanitation workers and want them all murdered by the government?

It is a shame an someone had to die, those jokes would have wrote themselves.

He should have referenced Ka being a wheel.

And the wheel stopped for them.

Have no idea why AN is part of that post.

And how is it "ironic"?

I'm sure the Repugs did respond. By grabbing any cash from unconscious victims and checking for loose gold fillings.

Says the guy who got run over by a van.

2018-02-02 04:49:55 PM
As well he should have. It wasn't karma, it was foreshadowing.

2018-02-02 04:50:39 PM
Oh, and it isn't this part, either:
King himself was involved in a rather devastating accident in 1999 when a driver of a van struck the author as he was walking down a road. The author required extensive physical therapy to recover from the event.

Unless King was a train, and/or the van was a garbage truck, they aren't related.

Donald Trump says stupid things on Twitter.  Steven King says a stupid thing on Twitter.

*Children are innocent, a teenager's farked up in the head. Adults are even more farked up. And elderlys are like children. Will there be another race to come along and take over for us? Maybe Martians could do better than we've done. We'll make great pets."

Symbolic.  It was symbolic.  For it to be Karma, they would have had to have been seriously hurt.

As someone who has never been to either State, I have Virginia stereotyped as a former Southern state now populated by govt. workers & bureaucrats & W.V. as economically deprived & rednecky, but they aren't a-holes about that like some Texans are...

Mr. King should apologize.  As a writer, he should be aware that he has confused "karma" with "metaphor."

I've lived in WV my entire 55 years on this earth.  I would truly live nowhere else, well except for South Carolina.  Okay, and maybe the BVI too, if I get to chill at Sir Richard's crib.  WV is like six different states depending on where you live.....BUT, while I can make fun of the people in the other parts, we all draw a line at outsiders making fun of any of us.

Same here in Maine.

The only bad karma King needs to apologize for is the cop-out endings in every book following the Tommyknockers.

"Karma"... That's ridiculous and outrageous, and he should  apologize.

The word he was looking for was "progress".

Metaphor.  Just ask Drax about those.

Masontown?  I grew up in Reedsville.  Probably knew\know of her.

Working stiff at least partially responsible for Republican train wreck that ends in death of said working stiff.  That really is a damn fine metaphor

Near Marvin's Mountaintop.  She moved away in the 50's, but my grandparents were still there up to the 80's (Hoffman).  I think their house was one of the last you'd pass on your way to the festival grounds (a two story white house next to a pond - haven't been up there since the 70's though).

Karma's a bitsch.

Karma can only be apportioned by the cosmos and rarely is involved with this lifetime.

In short, you know how Republicans think the poor are getting what's coming to them? That's how Hindu Karma works.

Karma would have been if they all got horribly injured, their health insurance got taken away, they died and left their families buried under mountains of debt. Then someone took their estates from their surviving relatives and gave them to a bunch of rich assholes.

This doesn't seem like karma for republicans. Steve Scalise (aka "KKK lite"), getting shot by a white guy was some beautiful karma though.

Why should King apologize when it was his friend Russ who said the stupid thing?

In other Celebrity Apologies today, Kathy Griffin apologized for standing out of sight and bopping Republican Congress Critters over the head with a dead skunk as they stumbled drunkenly out of the train.

PETA has provisionally accepted her apology on behalf of dead skunks and middle-of-the-road Democrats, provided she doesn't abuse any more dead critters or skunks.

To Kathy Griffin:  Beat you to the idea. Jelly much?

And now for a musical interlude:

Pretty sure he phrased that wrong.   It should be "Everyone in (insert shiathole area) owes their living to the government".

i.e.  Either you work for the state/feds or you are on Welfare, section 8 and SNAP.

In Canada we call people living on welfare or unemployment cheques "Government Employees", so we get it, dude. We totally get it.
