(Cleveland Plain Dealer)   Brian Hoyer says he had no idea that Josh Gordon was drunk and stoned on the field, even though his bad routes under the influence cost Hoyer the Browns' starting job   ( cleveland.com) divider line

Gordon drunk is still a better player than Hoyer.

Yeah, THAT's why Hoyer didn't succeed with the Browns...*eyeroll*

He kinda has to say that doesn't he?  Otherwise it's "Yeah I knew he was drunk/high"  "You DID?!?!? WHY DIDNT YOU SAY ANYTHING?!?!?!!"

When your "star" wide receiver is running the wrong routes during games (for ANY reason - not just once but repeatedly) and he's still your "star wide receiver", you must be playing for the Browns.

There is not one single team in the league would not salivate to get Flash on their roster, so you save you're bagging on the Browns here... You ain't being forthright.

I first read that as Jeff Gordon.

Drunk and high he's still the best player they've had on the roster in 30 years.

I read it as the Gorton's Fisherman.

Ummm have you seen Josh Gordon play? He'd be a WR1 on like 28/32 teams. Suspending players for pot is just one of many reasons the NFL is flailing.

...and then once they get him, they realize what a fark-up he is.  He's our generation's Moss, Owens, and Ochocinco...but the bad parts are amplified such that he's got no chance at greatness even if he gets off the Browns.

Reminder - Brian Hoyer went 10-6 with that squad when he started 16 games for the Browns.

He got benched.

Since then, they've won....uhhh...3 games? 4? TOTAL, mind you.

Hoyer is no Rodgers, Brees, or Bwady. But he wasn't the problem for Cleveland.
