Can't the eagles participate in a superbowl without puking on the field?

And Belichick comments that the sick Eagles are the best flu ridden players out of all the players who have ever been sick with the flu while playing.

I recall the Pats opponent having a sudden flu outbreak in years past, and absolutely believe the Pats would pull this shiat.

Hardly matters, the Pats have the boys in stripes to guarantee a win.

Careful, the NFL hates it when you show game highlights without their permission so that clip from the last Pats-Broncos game is gonna get taken down.

Malcolm Butler was sick apparently as well, so the Pats flew him on a separate flight and he stayed away from the team until he was past it. Given that it's super cold and these guys are probably interacting with hundreds of people per day i'm surprised they don't get sick as often.

Yeah, sure Sparky. Even my Boston-ite friend admits it--"We get the calls."

So GFY.

In-season they probably spend it in a haze of mild cold-like symptoms, if my experience playing D3 ball is similar, lol. The soreness from all the practice in piss-poor conditions and playing gets you inflamed and sniffly.

Oh.  Well then.  You know a guy, in Boston even!! - that says that?  Case closed!  Shut the thread down, no further discussion is even warranted at this point.  Way to show us all, "sparky!"

SOME of the stats show the Patriots with an edge but its by a few percent...and in my opinion (an Eagles fan BTW) either statistically insignificant or attributable to better discipline.

a relatively interesting article:

Patriots cheated by quarantining a sick player. I'm pretty sure the CBA specifically requires that all players only put on pads a certain number of hours per week, but also that they tongue-kiss each other once a week.

"I have no evidence that the refs are biased for the Patriots, but the refs are biased for the Patriots"

Getting penalized less than opponents doesn't mean that the refs are biased, it might mean that you commit fewer penalties and/or draw more from your opponent.

I suspect there is some unconscious bias towards the Pats because of their reputation as being good and disciplined. But, that exists everywhere and can't be avoided. I also doubt it is significant.

dywed88: unconscious bias towards the Pats

This pretty much explains every complaint about the Pats or about the NFL regarding the Pats.

Every "shady" thing about the Patriots has been committed by other teams and it's documented. You can find it by merely using your google machine. But it only matters because it's the Patriots.

And not because it's specifically the Patriots, just it's specifically the one team that has had the most success above all other teams for as long as half of the fans can even remember. It could be any other team. If any other team had that kind of success it would all be put on that team.

Hell, if Belichick could have somehow kept the Browns playing during the season that the it was announced they were moving, the Ravens would be the Patriots because they never would have fired Belichick.

Belichick is their missing piece. Their GM learned how to scout from Belichick and that's documented. It's why they've been consistently good, but not over the top.
