This really makes me wonder if Mueller is just sitting back and letting Nunes flail about, mucking things up and roping more people into obstruction and conspiracy territory.

Man, he's really bucking for a presidential pardon to keep him out of prison, isn't he?

I can't wait until Republicans suddenly start caring about the FBI and CIA entrapping people.

FTFA:We are on genuinely untrodden territory with a faction of House Republicans working to discredit federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies because they are investigating the President and finding damning information about him and his 2016 campaign.

Thing is, we really aren't. Historians seem quick to remind us that this shiat happened during Watergate, too. It didn't work then, either.

To give you an idea: even Glenn Greenwald (who is a big believer that short of Page or Manafort there is no evidence of any untoward connection between Trump and Russia) and believes that US Intelligence is guilty of severe abuses of human rights via their intelligence collection efforts has said "that Nunes is doing this and isn't actually making active attempts to unseal it basically proves it doesn't say what he is implying.

Yeah, I don't see that any other way than salty. The FISC is staffed by judges picked by Roberts. Any republican that questions their integrity is going to get smacked down hard at the end of all this.

So this memo is being released by the guy who has leaked to the press and White House multiple times but it isn't ACTUALLY being released or even leaked but is slowly getting bits implied? Can't be much of a bombshell if they aren't even releasing ANY details from the leakiest House investigation ever.

Or are there actual criminal violations in leaking this stuff now?

I wish I could believe that Mueller is going to bring down Trump...but the Dems just caved on the shutdown when they had EVERY reason to push Trump to the wall....i'm not seeing anything here that leads me to believe Schumer or any democrat is going to have the spine to stand up and follow the laws and impeach trump.

I have a bad feeling about all of this.  the GOP is run by thugs and fools, and the Democrats have no stomach for doing the right thing and standing up for the law.

More like it's a joke with no basis in reality, and Nunes knows it. It's meant to sow distrust in federal law enforcement and investigators targeting such people as Nunes, who were caught up in the original FISA wiretaps talking to foreign individuals under investigation.

Nothing more, nothing less. Nunes found out about his name being one of the names which were unmasked, and has been making stupid panic moves ever since.

It's really not in the political interests of Democrats to push that issue at this time. The Republican noise machine would go into overdrive and use it as a major message against half-cocked Democrats in the midterms. I really don't think there is anything damning that's come up in Congressional investigations yet, perjury and obstruction notwithstanding. Otherwise Republicans would have shut everything down.

But yea, Dems aren't going to rock the boat unless they can flip it over and dump the criminals. They don't have that power until after presumably taking over after November. Win or lose, they will do whatever they can after the elections. Right now Republicans are simply too powerful, having the numbers, propaganda wing, and a stupid and uninformed populist who gives them far too much credence.

From what I have learned from his website:
1) He hates Hillary, Billary, Shrillary, and Killary. And her lost shoe, too;
2) He kinda likes going for the lulz, stigginit style.
3) He does sponsored, commissioned work,
4) His, ummm.... enthusiasm has changed since the recent election
5) He also makes lengthy explanations on his websites of each cartoon, and sometimes for each/most of its components

Some miscreants have altered his cartoons into racist Two-Minute-Hates, which is completely unfair.
Garrison's artwork speaks for itself.

I am constantly fascinated by What he draws, and When.
For example, once the Meuller indictments/plea bargains began, I was curious how he would spin things.
He has released several cartoons about Hillary, about Al Gore and climate change, etc. This FISA Memo cartoon is the closest he has approached the topic since then. I'm not sure how much of that decision is his sponsors'.

The lunchbreak doodles our resident artist ccsears creates are the opposite in every way imaginable.

I've heard only one pundit (on TV no less) point out that a few Democrats asks for unanimous consent on voting for an emergency bill to fund the military during the shutdown, and then McConnel objecting three times. I bet you didn't hear about that. So goes the Republican noise machine and whimpers from everyone else. All you heard was it was the stupid dumbocrats holding the troops and kids hostage for ill eagles.

The Democrats have nothing but momentum riding on Republican malfeasance and chaos. They haven't been able to do anything but play opposition, and that's not a good message to take home, doubly so when the Republicans keep saying the Democrats didn't want to work with them on anything despite never giving them a seat at he table. But good luck telling the voters that.

I'm no fan of Democrats as anything other than opposition to Republicans, but if they are going to bring up impeachment and carry it out, they have to do it right. At this point, Republicans will not go along with impeachment proceedings, only after they get their asses handed to them after the midterms will we see any cracks in party unity.

Impeachment is an investment, and Democrats simply do not have the political capital. They didn't even have the political capital (this time) to get DACA through, only CHIP.

No, so they can, hopefully stand strong.  I mean they already forced the GOP to give us CHIP, something the GOP has shown they hate.  Now we'll see if we can get the rest of the children out of their grasp.

(But, more seriously, I don't know if I'd call this the right call...but I can see it as being defensible.  The main thing is that with only 3 weeks on the clock, it's a valid tactical move, and they can always rush into the fray again...but now people have been fed.)

(Also, I don't think Trump was as nearly as "in the bag" as you thought he was.  Especally with how CNN loved to push "clearly everyone was wrong")

You give the public too much credit. You and I know what Trump did, but you can't use the T-word in public and be thought of as anything but an ultra-lefty loon. We aren't quite there yet. A majority of voters DO believe that Trump committed SOME crime of some sort, going so far to compare him as someone who would make Benedict Arnold blush is just a bit too far.

The public is simply not ready to believe Trump is a traitor deserving to hang until his body rots from the noose.
