Holland

PRIEST bassist Ian Hill once described Holland's style as "very steady and solid. He doesn't try to fit things in and be fancy just for the sake of it. Dave's the sort of drummer that would rather leave something out and make his impact that way

Nice way of saying he couldn't carry Les Binks' jock strap.

But he played the drums, and isn't that what's important? Why do you want to ruin this young man's bright future?

If you think he's still alive, you've got another thing coming.

around '82 is when cable tv finally came across the river and we had it. Mtv shaped many young peoples music. those first judas priest videos were so simple but they are still awesome.

breakin' the law, heading out to the highway and hot rockin are guilty pleasures of mine.

I wish Simon Phillips had done more albums with them but he would have probably been bored out of his mind.

Also, most people forget he was a founding member of the band Trapeze. Notable for being the "first" big band featuring Glenn Hughes (Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Black Country Communion, and others) as well as Mel Galley (founding member of Whitesnake and Phenomena). The album Medusa by Trapeze was an amazing, underrated disc back in the 70's :)  Mr. Holland's drumming was perfect, if not innovative for that time.

The drummer was sentenced in January 2004 of trying to assault the 17-year-old in his cottage in Northamptonshire, England, while giving him drumming lessons.

You're not supposed to try and paradiddle your students, Dave.

"He served his time" is good enough for Michael Vick fans, why not musicians?

This has been a bad month for rock.

1. Rush disbands
2. Dave Holland
3. Dolores O'Riordan
4. Jim Rodford
5. Glenn Frey wrongful death suit
7. Tom Petty's autopsy: fentanyl
8. Chicago's HR department had to hire a new vocalist and a new bassist, because while they have health insurance and a 401k, they don't give enough PTO.

Is anyone making plans for Nigel?

British tan, plus several pints the night before the photo shoot.

Borne up by the solar angels, no doubt.

It never occurred to you that was sarcasm?
