I don't know what's worse, the joke or the historical inaccuracy.

That free publicity from a pearl-clutching media helps sell crappy merchandise.

q.v. the Donald Trump campaign, a conspiracy to sell baseball caps that got completely out of hand.

Considering the source, I now doubt the existence of slavery, Amazon, kids, and shiat.

Is slavery ruining the countryside?
Is Amazon giving us cancer?
Are kids ripping off pensioners?
Is shiat making our daughters obese?

C'mon Daily Mail, you've got a picture of the shirt RIGHT THERE.

And I love how they're blurring out the word "shiat" completely randomly.

But are the shirts eligible for Prime shipping?

2018-01-19 06:48:34 PM
Well, the shirts aren't wrong...

Anyway that picture/shirts/whatever has been around for a while now. I'm wondering how this is just now a problem? I'm guessing somebody was butthurt at Amazon for a completely unrelated reason. Or somebody without a sense of humor saw this and somebody else without a sense of humor at Amazon listened to them.

Now that's funny right there.

Sadly, if you asked a random group of Republicans that question, there'd be a scary large number saying Yes.

Possibly because there is growing attention to the fact that slavery is still a thing that plagues million of people.

Child slaves as well. Those camel races aren't going to race themselves:

The UAE are far from the worst. Apparently the top ten slave nations are India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, North Korea, Russia, Nigeria, DR Congo and Indonesia.

If they wanted the t-shirt to be a bit of biting social commentary, they should replace the pyramids with a pile of cheap Chinese consumer electronics.

Yep. And deservedly so.

Amazon made the choice to let people sell things on their website without being reviewed by Amazon staff first. They decided whatever business they lose is worth the savings.

I'd have to posit the question then of precisely how you'd think having Amazon review every single item on every 3rd party storefront on their site. They'd need a massive army of employees just for that job alone to keep up with the ever changing stock, or face delays of listing items and the obvious loss of customers.

Blaming Amazon is like blaming the grocery store for having the audacity to sell raw chicken just as it's found out the chicken producer let their workers piss on the chicken. Upon being found out it's coming off the shelves, and I'd wager Amazon has rules in place as to what is/isn't allowed.

I've had that pyramid picture for at least 8 years now on my PC just because I lol'd at I once. Would I post it somewhere else, let alone try to sell it on a shirt? Nope.

Okay, am I the only one who is noticing that the child is possibly Asian? That's so close to the black kid in the monkey hoodie that I'm wondering if it was the same advertising dude who came up with both ideas.

Um... maybe don't have a service that you can't control?

I am a huge Amazon shopper, so guilty as charged, but this is a basic fact of modern tech companies that I can't understand why people just seem to accept. "How can you expect us to control our own service???!!!"

Fark you, hire enough people to do so, or run a smaller service. Maybe companies simply shouldn't be big enough to have this problem.

"We have too many chickens, how could you possibly expect us to keep track of whether they have diseases or not?"

"We put 300 kids in one kindergarten class, how can you possibly expect us to know if one of them died or not?"
