She's a life long Type 1 diabetic that had a low. My son has had them. Had to call the ambulance once when we found him low. Managed to get his 6'1 teenage confused self to take some sugar. Cancelled the ambulance.
Not a big deal. Relax everyone. However, I do acknowledge the anxiety.

I had a coworker who occasionally had these things come up. Trump is more likely to die of fatass disease.

At this point, I'd settle for him taking a big, oily dump in his pants mid-SotU.

At least then they'd match that poor microphone.

If the GOP gets a 7-2 SCOTUS majority, after RBG goes, it's basically over. It'll be a steady stream of fascist decisions cementing voter caging, the destruction of women's rights, and many more besides. We won't recover.

Women with type 1 diabetes had an average life expectancy of about 68 years, compared with 81 years for those without the disease, the study found.

https://www.webmd.com/diabetes/news/20150106/type-1-diabetes-linked-to-lower-life-expectancy-in-study

It took my friend at age 56. She was diagnosed in college. Had a fever in her dorm room, her friend made her go to student health, they put her in the hospital and on insulin.

Her cousin had the same age of onset, similar circumstances.

We aren't going to recover anyways, but yeah, that will just be beating our corpses further. Our lives will never get better from here on, but they can get worse much faster. And life is already horrible.

I think that we've all died long ago and this is actually hell.

Yeah, but has anyone checked on Ginsburg lately?

She's a tough old bird (survived early stage farking pancreatic cancer AND colon cancer), but I worry.  :(

Five years ago, my mother--a diabetic since 2010--had a major low. Her blood glucose was low enough that another point or two would have put her in a coma. I had to call an ambulance and basically force-feed her a peanut butter sandwich and orange juice. And you know what?

Her recently-diagnosed congestive heart failure and kidney disease will kill her long before her blood sugar.

So nobody get worried about Madam Justice.

Yep, she literally just needed some OJ. People call ambulances but it's not that dangerous as long as you don't bite your tongue off.

Type 1 for 28 years...

Typical. No actual concern for her. Just concerns over her seat in the Supreme Court. Get a grip. Life is about more than politics sometimes.

My dad is in his 70s and has been type 1 since he was a child. These things happen, it's usually when you predict your insulin dose but then something comes up and you don't eat in time, then you turn into an angry drunk and won't take the drink of soda or chew a candy that will fix everything.

My friend crashed just before I called her one night. She was out of her head. I finally told her either she went into the other room and got her mother or I was calling the ambulance and sending them to her house. Luckily she gave up and walked 10 feet or so and may have saved her life. She was very close. But she recovered and lived for several years.

Now the doctor that prescribed a hormone that grew tumors in her heart. That was an interesting experience for her.

I can't remember the syndrome but it causes stroke after stroke in diabetics. She was diagnosed with it and boy if they weren't right. She didn't die quickly, she just wore out a little more after each stroke.

It probably does. At the same time, since that incident, she has managed her diabetes very well, and despite all the conversations I've had with her doctors, none of them mentioned that congestive heart failure and kidney disease were likely.

My ex-wife, who I lived with for 20 years has been a type1 sine she was 7.
For a while, crashes were a pretty regular thing. When she would crash she would get mean. Almost violent at times. I learned over time how to talk her into drinking some juice knowing that if I could just get her blood sugar up a little, she'd at least be back to being rational enough to understand what was going on. Usually the threat of calling 911 and sending her to the hospital was enough to get her to cooperate. Never had to call 911. Came pretty close a few times though.

All of that pretty much went away when she went on the pump. She still has/had lows but doesn't crash like she used to.

The way it's going, Trump is going to appoint two more Justices before he's out of office. Ginsburg is 84 years old and could drop dead at any moment.

settle down.  It was low blood sugar.  They probably gave her 8 ounces of fruit juice, slapped her on the ass, and sent her to work.  Generally not life threatening, unless she makes it a habit (or the juice fails to bring her sugar up).

And Schumer needs to say "my proudest moment was telling president Trump 'you will not fill this seat.'" Word for farking word.
