Next time let the cow drown. Then you can have steaks.

That isn't what fuels a firehouse.  Talk about a self-righteous slap in the face.

Veganism is such a fraud. Vegans spend so much time in the produce section that they think that this is somehow a virtue in and of itself.

But if you're not eating organic and supporting fair trade, you're just contributing to Big Agriculture, and you're still farking the planet.

Yes, eat vegetables, but do it in a socially responsible manner.

Look, if you want to be Vegan, that's fine.  But if you don't want to eat meat, quit making fake meat out of vegetable matter.  It just tells me that you're not quite as committed to your philosophy as you claim.

I don't get PETA people. Why is it that they have no problem with eating fungi, plantae, protozoa, bacteria, and chromista, but they draw the line at animalia? That seems arbitrary.

I don't think their philosophy has anything to do with dietary enlightenment.

Any angle to promote a belief and the behaviors that it requires. Almost like a religion..

This is PETA we're talking about here.

What do want to bet they turned right around and killed the cow?

Damn insane hypocrites long ago ran any real animal lovers out of the organization.

I think the hardest part about being a Vegan is not being able to have any pudding.

Hey, some of that stuff is made from mushrooms.  Toss the seitan and soy.

/loves me some mushrooms

The firefighters should take a picture of them eating a jerky sandwich with cheese and mayo and send that back to PETA.

Tie it together and make a rope?

/and since it's PETA, I'm reminded to get a bunch of fur cloak bitz to kit out my new Space Marine officers with...

Could have given them anything else, trail-mix, vegan protein bars, heck, even a nice basket of vegetables. It's just that the thought of vegetable jerky sounds awful; you'll get some mush that doesn't have the consistency of jerky, or something that has the consistency of jerky but has so much fiber it's offending to the tastebuds.

2018-01-12 11:15:06 PM
They gave them some vegan jerky and a book about veganism.

Nothing like being 'rewarded' with a religious tract...

I went backpacking with a vegan once. He offered everyone some Tofurky Jerky when we stopped for a rest. It looked and smelled like a smashed dog turd. He did not get any takers. We also spotted him using Burt's Bees lipbalm on that trip, which contains honey, and is decidedly non-vegan. He was also wearing leather boots.

"delicious vegan jerky"
Isn't that like matter and anti-matter colliding?

PETA be like: Oh, thank you firemen for saving a living creature that humans have enslaved!

Firemen be like:  Damn, that cow must be worth a lot.  Plus it'll muck up that pond real nasty once it starts decomposing if we let it die.  Better get it out of there.

Someone needs to send them three cows worth of jerky. Mostly for the irony, but also because jerky is yummy.

Soy jerky isn't terrible, but no one would mistake it for the genuine article.

Vegan's eating "meat" is cultural appropriation.

I wouldn't even comment on any of these vegan threads, if vegans didn't proselytize like evangelical christians...

I had vegan jerky once. I don't think they did it right- the vegan was really stringy, hard to chew, and tasted like broccoli farts.

I mean, I'm not generally into cannibalism, but I could make an exception for vegans, I guess.

Some nonsense about "sentience". But don't mention mimosa pudica or you'll really piss them off!
