Argh. It's a JOKE. This is Jenkum all over again. No, adults, teenagers are not really eating Tide Pods. They're using them as part of a silly meme. What you see in the memes and videos is not reality. No normal teenagers are actually eating laundry detergent.

Come on, can we please STOP telling these teens to not do these stupid and dangerous challenges?  Our Great and Mighty Lord Darwin needs their souls!

Pods suck.

Not for the safety issue. That's just a symptom of stupidity- either little kids (who are supposed to be dumb) eating everything or teenagers (who are notorious for being moronic) doing stuff like this.

I dislike them because they just don't really work well. They stain clothes. When I tried them, I ruined several articles of clothing with weird stains that just wouldn't ever come out. I finally nailed it down to the plastic not dissolving right and getting stuck into the clothing. I quit using the pods and never once had another issue like that. Screw it. Putting liquid or powder in there isn't that hard at all.

Anyone with an IQ north of 20. There's warning labels on the box and Tide has run a series of ads whose sole purpose is to warn consumers of the dangers of eating the them, so at this point either the "Tide Pod Challenge" is fake or there's a whole lot of idiots out there who deserve what they get for being stupid.

/I'm OK with stupid people dying of stupidity and long as they don't take innocent people with them.

Due to the wonders of the internet--I have it on good authority that people under 18 are:

drinking less alcohol
smoking less weed
smoking less tobacco
having less sex

So, they're stealing grandma's pain medication and eating laundry products....
at least they're not sneaking Marlboros and drinking Bud Light.

The author of the article finds a joke subreddit about making Tide pods into snacks meals and we get a styoooopid, panicky article over it. Enjoy that ulcer, morans.

I work in a children's ER. Have seen multiple kids (toddler/preschool age) come in who ingested (usually bit into) Tide Pods. Can make them seriously sick. Burn the esophagus, crap like that.

So Tide makes a commercial to cover their ass.

And everybody makes a joke of it, because duh don't eat them.

And teenagers now pretend to rebel again the warning... lets hope they pretend at least.

And the target audience for the commercial (parents) fails to learn to lock up and keep Tide pods away from kids.

It's the new jenkem. A lot of adults-- especially those in the "news" business-- are befuddled by tongue-in-cheek memes and videos.

I bet if the journalists we have now were around in the 70s or 80s, Steve Martin would have had them all believing in Cat Juggling being a popular pastime in Mexico.
