Killer Queen?  Put that crown in a pretty cabinet.

Nice, Iz.  Nice. Love the understatement with just the right touch of "I'm the farking queen and I'm kind of a big deal".  Classic.

Once there, things didn't get any easier as the during the ceremony Queen struggled with her dress which was embroidered silk with pearls, gold and silver threads."I remember one moment when I was going against the pile of the carpet and I couldn't move at all," she said.Royal people problems.

I love that she's being more candid about her life, the history of the royals, and all of the stuff
she deals with. It's really hard not to have respect for her, but with her more openness over the last
few years, she has endeared herself even more to the world. She's dropped a lot of that "stiff upper
lip" crap and show she's a human being in a very extra-ordinary position. The fact that she enjoys
silly presents at Christmas, gets called "Granny" by the grandchildren, likes a drink after lunch, she mourned Diana like everyone else did,  etc.. that really humanizes her.

She has done one heck of a job. Always proper, always in character. And she really didn't have a choice about taking the job, or an opportunity to get out of it. For 60+ farking years.

And she is very much about appearance and tradition (which really is what a Constitutional Monarchy is all about), but not to the extent that she will not change as the times do. Yes, occasionally she might need a kick in the backside to change but she is smart enough to see when it must be done.

*AHEM* as someone who has seen almost every single documentary, it is actually Prince Phillip who kept them "up to date" and not the Queen.

If a little old lady can wear that thing and be fine, I think my neck would be strong enough.  Uncomfortable?  Sure, but crowns are not about comfort, they are about communicating that your nation has so much wealth, that you can waste it on trivial things like gold hats for the ruler.

Met a lot of Presidents, and been dealing with every POTUS since Eisenhower.

When weighed against Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, and Obama, how do you THINK #45 would look?

I never said she came up with modernizing ideas, I said she was willing to change. It doesn't matter who's ideas they were, she always had the power to change or not.

If the British Monarchy puts back more funds into the government than it accepts in taxpayer funds that it needs to order to operate, then you'd have a point.
