Hey, it's a job.

2018-01-12 11:21:59 AM
Oh I've left a job and went directly over to the competition for work. Happens all the time in my industry.

But I think its worse for the soda people. Those Coke people really hate Pepsi people and vice versa.

I'm kind of curious what you would do if you owned many stores of some variety and 60 of them were either underperforming or competing with another of your stores.

To be fair, neither did Marketplace on NPR. They announced the minimum wage increase and had a quote from someone crediting the new tax bill. Then it was on to the next story.

What made them poorly performing that the wage increase was only used as a smokescreen to close 62 stores? They could have closed the stores without the wage increase.

No, but the decent thing is to give people advance notice, not chain the doors so they find out when they try to clock in for work that day.

I don't care about them.  I don't care about the laid off people either, because I'm a cold person.

I was just wondering what you would do in that situation, since you seem to feel it was a poor business decision.

Walker: Try Costco, they're better, treat their employees better.

Yeah but they don't hire much. The "manager" at a Costco is also the stocker, cart pusher, maintenance, concession stand worker etc.  But they do pay more than sams.  They prefer to have less employees and for them to be salaried and overtime exempt. And if they see sams on your application they discard it.

No, but they also don't need to be fellated for making a business decision which benefits both them and their employees.

Guy goes into a bar, tells the bartender: "I'm celebrating my first blow job. Gimme three shots of whisky."
Bartender says, "Congrats, have a fourth one on the house."
Guy: "Nah, if the first three don't take away the taste, nothing will."

I've seen no evidence of this claim as a regular Costco shopper.
