Mueller told them that Trump was the least guilty person he'd ever investigated.

I'm sure Mueller was just stumped as to how to gift wrap a complete exoneration.

"I think he's going to be fair. And if he's fair -- because everybody knows the answer already,"

Trump is actually correct here, just not in the way that he thinks he is.

Best offence/defence against a sociopath is non-confrontation, deflection, lies and reassurance. The consequences of telling the painful truth will have severe consequences. For them.
Trump's lawyers know this, and they are not stupid. They are waiting it out to let someone else tell him.

Yeah, everyone knows the answer already, it's just a matter of getting all the evidence together before presenting that answer and dragging your ass out of the WH.

I don't, here is why: networks have always filmed presidents golfing, this president sucks donkey balls and tries to hide from the media and we (Fark) decide to make fun of them for that? There is so much other shiat to make fun of CNN for, hell, I ain't over the aliens with the missing Malaysia flight.

Well, it seems that we (at least the Meuller/pro-America side) had a holiday break the past few weeks.  No major news dumps or indictments released, they settled in for a short winter's nap.  However, 5 PM on Friday is only 50 hours away...

As I recall, the lawyers were bragging about the meeting the week before it happened, saying they were going to go in there and really give Mueller and his boys the business, I tell you! They were going to go in there and set the record straight and get full-on apologies from Mueller and his team for being just so mean to Trump and his associates. They were also saying they were going to get all of the dirt on Mueller, and where exactly this nothingburger witch hunt was.

Then the week of the meeting passed, and for some reason, Trump's lawyers didn't say a word. I wonder what happened.

The precise details of what was discussed couldn't be learned. But the President's lawyers haven't dampened their optimism that Mueller's Russia investigation will come to an end soon, and that there's no danger to the President.
"I know we, collectively, the lawyers, are looking forward to an expeditious wrapping up of this matter," Jay Sekulow, a lawyer for the President, told The Wall Street Journal a few days after the discussion with Mueller's team.

BUT THEN

The Trump lawyers are no longer putting dates on when they expect the investigation to end, after previously predicting an end by Thanksgiving, then Christmas or the end of the year.

The human brain is, fundamentally, a pattern recognition machine.  We're really, really good at identifying and recognizing patterns.  In fact, we're so good at it that we often imagine that we see patterns where there aren't any, such as in Trump's tweeting habits.  This, coupled with the general desire to see Trump run out of town on a rail, can easily lead to a perceived correlation between the most recent spasm of Trump's Twitter activity and other goings on.  Their pattern-seeking brains attempt to discern the cause and effect- "Trump unleashed this particular deranged nugget in response to [x] that happened yesterday" "Trump is tweeting in manner [y] which indicates [z] will happen soon" and so on.

In truth the only correlation between Trump's tweets and anything else is his FauxNews dripfeed - there is indeed correlation between what's on Fox and Fiends and what Trump tweets about, but that's an immediate response kind of thing (usually within minutes - and when it's not it's because he's watching via timeshift/DVR).

But we can't help but look for a bigger, more meaningful pattern.  And since we're dreaming up patterns, we might as well dream that they'll result in what we really want, happening.

He's becoming unfocused and even more unstable in his thoughts. It's not so much that his tactics have changed, it's more that he's not focused on any one issue, person, or country. Before he'd throw out three or four tweets on one subject. Hillary, Comey, NK, whatever in order to focus on something or someone else. This scattershot tweeting about 5 or 6 different topics keeps the public from focusing on anything but Trump. That's exactly where he doesn'twant the focus.

They just got so viciously owned that they did the typical thing that Republicans do in this case:  they shut the fark up and waited for some time before they felt they could go back to being typical assholes again.

But you know they told Trump and had to reveal that the exoneration was never going to happen.  That was one of Trump's big talking points in early December and you could tell he really believed it.  Now, the truth is out:  2018 is the year of the investigation and Trump is going to be put under a microscope.  And now he's flipping out, screaming about nuclear war, and generally trying to take as much credit for the nothingburger of his administration before everything comes to an end.

He's pretty powerless at this point.  I don't even think he has the ability to use the nukes if he even wanted.

It's not saying that it can or can't be used.  it's that the longer a discussion carries on,  the more likely it is that nazis will be invoked.

It's like rule 32.

Or the rule that farkers drink too much.
