Yeah that has to suck, especially for a team that had Ken Griffey Jr. AND Ichiro, pretty much back-to-back.

A lot of people on Fark make fun of the fact that the Seahawks have a lot of bandwagon fans, but.....

1) There will always be a bandwagon factor when you win a Super Bowl.
2) This city has been under a sports curse for quite some time, so when the Seahawks did well, people naturally latched onto them.  (And what you mentioned are reasons why.)

/Fan since '85.

No, as bad as they've been, the Sabres' current drought is only in its 7th year.  They last qualified for the postseason in 2010-11.

uh, Phoenix?  we've had the 3 Majors plus hockey for almost 20 years, and when you count the Suns inaugural season in 1967 (?) and the Cards being here since 1989, it's, pfffft, a ballpark 120+ years with just one world title (Snakes, 2001).  peole shiat on cleveland but, they've won World Series (albeit not in like, 90 years) and have the Cavs who just won a NBA title.  Suns are 0-2 in NBA finals, Cards 0-1 in Super Bowls, the Coyotes make the playoffs once every 11 years and lose.....

i think it would be kind of cool to see them make a run.  for all they've been through.  first playoff appearance since i think 2004?  the move, everything.

really fell off the NFL bandwagon this year.  the last 2 weeks of the season i barely watched anything.  Week 17 I saw a little ibt of the Pats and somebody, and didn't see any of the SEA/ARI game.  just had other stuff going on.  *shrug*

I liked how Frasier occasionally worked the Seattle teams into the story.  I remember an episode where Niles was trying to help a Sonics player with performance anxiety and by the end he was so far off the rails that he developed a superstition where he had to rub Niles' head for luck before each game.

Bills, Sabres, and Mets here.  Life is rough.

And I only became a Mets fan around 20 years ago, so I wasn't a fan yet in '86.

Though I can relate to your last comment.  I was 8-12 during the Bills four consecutive SB appearances, at which age I was just starting to pay attention to sports.  It led young me to the (very mistaken) belief that the Bills in the SB was just something that happened every year.

I was a junior in high school when the Browns made the playoffs. They had a big lead on the Steelers, but then my Steelers came back and won with Tommy Maddox as quarterback. The newspaper headline the next day is "Heinz Catch-up".
