if/when trump and the GOP go hog wild with blatant voter suppression this year, the backlash will probably get violent and bloody.

Thus bringing on Martial Law and cancelled elections. Ta-da!

Glenn Beck still cry-sharts when he sees that picture.

Elections experts say widespread voter fraud doesn't exist.
But that won't stop us in fabricating a new reality!

I see many panels in Kobach's future, only he is going to be on the cover-the-mic-while-you-listen-to-your-lawyer-side.

They'll probably realize suppression won't be enough and just straight up commit widespread fraud. Turns out dead people vote Republican.

After they finally figure out once and for all that this is not an actual problem, they'll still go full steam ahead with their voter suppression efforts, and they'll justify it by saying it's a necessary preventive measure. They will never, ever stop farking this chicken.

Voter suppression, gerrymandering, refusal to confirm, shutting down government, cancelling established laws and treaties...

The Republican's publicly-stated goal of making America a one party country is almost complete.

Yeah,  they're way behind.  There's still a lot of suppressing to do.

The only ones ever busted for voter fraud is republicants, so just round all of them up and, voila, problem(s) solved!

Weird how a group of folks putting out massive requests for data is made up entirely of people who aren't analysts or data scientists. Like, what are they going to do if they actually do get all the data they're looking for? Print it out and light it on fire and use it as a pleasing sacrifice unto the Lord while they pray for Jeebus to come strike down the fake voters?

A data scientist wouldn't have plausible deniability on how flimsy the arguments that this panel is bound to come up with are. Kobach's plan is probably to cherry pick data about the number of democrats registered in multiple states, and to aggressively pimp some flimsy arguments based on that on Fox News. Which will then, of course, be taken as gospel truth by Trumpers.

That's unfair. That girl in the middle seems to be a very convincing prostitute.

FFS, no woman should have to stand that close to James O'Keefe if they're not getting paid.

They didn't fall for it.  They just said "Our job is to help people apply for benefits.  It doesn't matter what their occupation is.  Even if that occupation is shouldn't-have-quit-your-day-job-cosplayer."

My father and I have the same first name, but different middle names. That didn't stop the town from removing both his and my voter registrations when we moved, even though we had different addresses and DOB's on file. The DMV also told my insurance company that I was the one who totalled his wife's car, even though, again, different middle names, addresses, and driver's license numbers. I warned him when I moved out-of-state to make sure he was still registered to vote.

Heck, one family member with a very, very common first and last name got a phone call from the fir department at 3am to be told his business was on fire. He informed them that no, his business was in his basement, and he'd know. Of course they had the wrong Mr. Jones in that city.

I had a similar problem with my grandfather.  Same first and last names, same town. Different addresses and middle names.
After he passed, for a few months I began getting social security checks in the mail.
My folks wouldn't let me cash them.

Half of all voters can't even be arsed to go to the polls.  The GOP knows how to boil a frog.  This year: claims of rampant voter fraud.  Next year: massive purging of voter rolls with extreme prejudice.  Hey, if you really want to vote, what's the harm in registering again?

The best part is when you attempt to clarify the cause of these mixups, many people you deal with assume you're committng fraud of some kind.

My dad and I had the same name. His credit was radioactive, he had defaulted on numerous debts, and was delinquent on several years' worth of Federal income taxes.

I got calls and harassing letters for years. It actually got worse after he died.

I couldn't imagine having to deal with fighting with DMV and voter registration on top of that.

Work in Atlantic City, attractive hookers exist. They're just not nearly as common or affordable as the sketchy, sometimes hideous ones.

They'll all try to rob you though. A stunning amount of dudes seem to like leaving their wallets lying around the hotel room while they take a post coitus shower.
