TOPBUN: TFA says he said it was serious and did not make light of the situation, why is he apologizing?

He posted a video of the corpse of a suicide victim on Youtube.

If you did NOT RTFA, I'll answer your question.. Yes, it's Logan Paul again!

"Now with that said: buckle the fark up, because you're never gonna see a video like this again!" - his actual video description where he's sensationalizing showing kids the body of a suicide victim.

Because you don't post bodies of people on Youtube and monetize it, regardless of the message that you are going for? Especially suicide victims, who may have family out there? Would you want to find out that your family member, who suffered so much that they felt compelled to take their own life, would have some punk kid post their lifeless body on Youtube, and get paid for doing so?

When I first saw this when I woke up I thought he had killed himself. But I'm sure his neighbors might donate to a fund of him having an "accident".

Also somebody off camera said they were going to be sick and Logan said,  "You've never stood next to a dead body before?"

Pretty sure that THAT'S seriously against the TOS. Nuke his channel, in the face.

/ oh wait, rules only apply to little channels and not giant d-bags with big channels

TOPBUN: TFA says he said it was serious and did not make light of the situation, why is he apologizing?

It goes on to say that he was making light of it: In the clip, for example, the BBC reports that one of group member says off camera he "doesn't feel good." To which Paul replies, "What, you never stand next to a dead guy?" He laughs after that.

And he was also hyping the fark out of it: "I think this definitely marks a moment in YouTube history because I'm pretty sure this has never hopefully happened to anyone on YouTube ever. Now with that said: buckle the f*ck up, because you're never gonna see a video like this again!"

But it sounds like he learned his lesson.

If you don't want your corpse made public, don't kill yourself in a public space.

No "why" is necessary once the pearls have been clutched.

FTA:  "The BBCreports that one of group member says off camera he "doesn't feel good." To which Paul replies, "What, you never stand next to a dead guy?" He laughs after that."

Sounds like he made a small effort at a disclaimer (suicide and mental illness are serious), then went right back to his jokey tone. Considering almost every culture in the planet shows some level of respect for the dead, the apology was needed to calm the outrage he created.

2018-01-02 03:29:22 PM
Maybe a tree killed him.

2018-01-02 03:30:48 PM
That's just swell.  Now apologize for that dumb hat.

2018-01-02 03:31:01 PM
It'd be nice if, in cases like this, the people's attention would pull the spot-light off the d-bag & put it on the victim. Who were they, what were they going through, how can suicides be prevented in a society where it is such a huge problem that there is a place dedicated to suicide? Once a d-bag like this creates a buzz. Steal it. Redirect it towards the positive. Leave them in the dust.

/It seems like the d-bags always get the spotlight.
//Let's not give them any attention. That's what they want. F 'em.

Google "It's everyday bro" then see how long you can take it before your soul forces your hand to turn it off.

Best test of manhood since the "how long can you hold your hand in the campfire" game.

Everybody needs an editor.

"Hey Logan. I think it's a bad idea to go to a Japanese suicide forest to film a dead body."

Fark you bro.

"Well, it sounds like you're going to do this regardless, but I have some ideas. We could film you walking around, then you make an audible gasp and the camera goes black. Cut to you in your hotel room three hours later explaining that you found a body, talked with the authorities and now you're going to talk to your viewers about how this experience impacted you."

Nah bro. You're such a pussy. You know what? You're fired bro.

Pardon my ignorance, but, who the fark is Logan Paul??

Wikipedia tells me that he's one of those people who is famous for being famous, and he only has 85% of his right testicle (how they measured that is unclear). And from the photos we know he's a d-bag.

So, into the ship with the telephone sanitisers, hair dressers and account executives for him then.

Some guy named Paul that shakes a cup outside the airport in Boston. Or some shiat.

Yet, with minimal effort, you can find tons of YouTube videos of people being killed in various ways.

Guess it is the 'monetization' that has people annoyed and not the dead body.

He is just a d-bag who posts stupid videos on YouTube and I believe he was big on Vine too when it was around. And to nobody's surprise, hes also friends to some Curtis Laporte guy who supposedly raped his ex gf but settled out of court.

Guessing you are old like me; but, you seem to have missed that for a certain generation, "YouTube" has basically replaced TV and movies.

There are people on YouTube who make stacks of cash  (and sure, lots who make diddly) sitting on their duffs playing video games and talking about it (you know, shiate my friends and I did back in 1985?).   Or talking about what they had for dinner.  Or talking about their diseases. Or weight loss fights. Or, or, or, etc. et. al. ad infinitum.   And some of them get paid well for it.

So, yeah, there are 'YouTube' stars.

And this likely won't hurt his channel, or his income, because he's a "Big" YouTuber.

But countless smaller channels, channels that have the basic farking human decency to not profit off of the corpse of a farking SUICIDE VICTIM, will be hurt as Youtube makes its shiatty demonetization algorithms even more strict to try and please the advertisers, even though the damn things hit legit, harmless videos at LEAST as often as they hit things that actually violate the 'ad-friendly guidelines'.

Have you looked at "TV and movies" lately?  There's a reason that youtube was able to take their place (part of the reason is that with petabytes of content, you will eventually find something extremely tailored to your own interests, other is that TV and movies just suck).

Unfortunately, just like TV and movies skyrocket plenty of dooshs to fame and fortune (2017 called, said you were missing something), so does youtube.

And to put this into perspective now...  Now that this is on the news, a few million people that have never heard of this guy before will now find his channel and view his videos.

So he is literally now going to bank off of the publicity of his apologizing.
