Such a nice man. He never rests.

I'm guessing one of his 2018 goals is to insult and disparage every single country in the world. Except Russia of course. Many fine people live there.

"They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!"

Dammit, Pakistan, stop giving haven to those in Afghanistan!   Don't ask me how you're protecting people in another country, just stop it!

On the plus side, Trump's tweets tell me what they're discussing on Fox that morning, so I don't have to watch myself.

Didn't read the full article, but based on the headline and his statements, I actually agree with his sentiments and yes - we should withhold aid

They knowingly harbored Osama bin Laden FFS, and they have refused  to help or hindered our efforts to hunt down terrorists in their country time and again

Put that money someplace else, like to the EPA so they can further destroy the environment

Oh, good. I was hoping he'd piss off even more nations first thing in the new year. Who wasn't? It's not as if anyone in this country is tired of perpetual wars that cannot be won.

I think Trump really believes that A: there's, like, a BofA checkbook, and he has to sign a check for foreign aid, and B: whatever he doesn't spend he gets to keep.

What's the chances Putin told Fox & Friends to talk about Pakistan so Trump would Tweetrage about it first thing this morning?

An actual game show host would be much more competent than the current Banana-rama in Chief. He was merely alpha douchebag on a scripted reality game show.

It's a very difficult relationship, but that isn't reason to end it.  They have nuclear weapons, they are fairly unstable, and they'll start looking for a new big friend if Trump dumps them.

2018-01-01 02:32:31 PM
All he has to do is piss off Turkmenistan and he'll complete a Middle East trifecta for Risk. Since we have troops in Afghanistan, he starts off in the middle to defend!

WTF!!? I love Pakistan now. We should double, no triple the aid.

Aside from those who fund his campaign.

Because they're not already in bed with Russia?

You're right though, they do have nuclear weapons and centuries old hatred for their neighbors that makes it possible they'd use them, so we better continue bribing, oops I mean, giving them aid.

And we responded by actually invading them with ground troops in order to get OBL.  You should find it "odd" that a sovereign nation that was invaded by the United States didn't really get upset or respond.

The reason you agree with Trump's sentiments is because you only have a face value understanding of the relationship.  Trump only has a 5 second snippet face value understanding of ever single US policy/decision.  Hey, same with me, there's nothing wrong with it.  But the stupidest possible thing you could do is draw a conclusion and support international policy based on your 5 second snippet understanding of the situation.  So let's revisit your post and fix the stupid:

rcain: Didn't read the full article

You haven't even read a single full article on the topic.  Continue...

rcain: based on the headline and his statements

But based on a headline and Trump's Tweet...
rcain: I actually agree with his sentiments and yes - we should withhold aid I would never draw a conclusion about international policy.  And Trump is a dumbass for doing just that.

I completely agree.  This is the most intelligent post in the thread.  Well stated, rcain.  So smart, very unexpected in a Fark.com thread.  Kudos sir, kudos.

Rtard the point of payments to Pakistan is to keep their government chugging along so a state with a nuclear arsenal doesn't collapse and flood the Middle East with loose nukes.

You're farking stupid for thinking you had a considered opinion on this topic and then having the audacity to share it when it was soooo bad

this! this! this!

You have to be pretty arrogant or pretty stupid (why not both?) to think that they just went "awww shucks you guys! you just let a full military operation to get OBL. OH well!!" - Pakistan like many of these countries are between a rock and hard place between helping the US out and getting thrown out in a coup or revolution.

Trump might force them to pick a side. -- History shows often that leads to someone worse.

The world is a complicated place, sometimes we have people who should be adversaries but also have nuclear weapons and we want to try and keep them under a relatively stable government instead of falling into anarchy.

It is by far a more complicated concept than our dear president could ever hope to understand so he boils it down to a binary us vs them mentality.

Were farked.

And he didn't even have the balls to fire the contestants himself. The contestant side and Trump side were filmed separately. He was saying, "You're fired," to empty chairs. He never actually did the one thing he was famous for. Well, he isn't as rich as he claims either. So I guess the two things he is known for claiming are fake.

God, the more I hear old interviews with president Obama and see his current tweets, the sadder and sadder I get about what our government has fallen to with the cheeto in charge.

Humble actually is, he doesn't know what it means but he is/was aware of it.

LESLEY STAHL: "You're not known to be a humble man. But I wonder -- "

TRUMP: "I think I am, actually humble. I think I'm much more humble than you would understand."

He's the most humble, bigly humble, so much humble you'll be sick of it!

But of course, the shining beacon of Freedom and Liberty would be utterly incapable of doing such a thing. Oh well

I'm going to (for once) take the High Road.

I wish all of the politics Farkers, left and right; Never-Trumpers and Trumpeters; Hawks and Doves; Exceptionalists and Apologists; Libtards and Republicoonts; Black Lives and All Lives; Feminazis and Misogynists; Shills and Sheep; Fundies and Atheists; Pinkos and Libertarians; Deplorables and Bernie Bros; Whatabouters and Me-Toos; Lighters and Lurkers; Folksy Racists and Reverse Discriminators; Pearl Clutchers and Gun Grabbers; Paid Trolls and my mom's lovers; Conspiratards and Fake Newsers; Klanbertans and Ontaribles; and even those with more Ignores than Greenlights, every comfort, success, happiness, and good fortune that 2018 can bring.

The only way this world of ours gets better is if we all remember that this planet is only getting smaller, and solutions are not going to come from only one side. There truly are "Good People on both sides" of most of our disagreements.  I'm not saying any of us are  going to give up the fight, but we can carry the battle forward without scorching the Earth behind us.

May the dangers of this world pass you by, and may we all see out this year in peace, justice and freedom.

I don't think we have EVER played nice with Pakistan in the expectation they would suddenly become a shining beacon of freedom or because they were nice people or even because our hearts were going out to their poor, starving, hungry people.  Our arrangements with Pakistan have ALWAYS been, "we want you to fight/stop fighting someone else we hate."

But it's ironic that Trump is essentially mad that Pakistan lied, cheated, and reneged on deals when that is basically all he ever did throughout his life.
