Not that it really matters, but shouldn't we be holding off on it until Chinese New Year? We've still got a month and a half of the year of the cock, after all.

Me too. I love being a monkey. Best of the signs. Never trust a snake or a dragon.

"The Dragon is against the ruling energy of the year The Dog, so could find it a tricky year with many surprise setbacks and disappointments.

Be especially careful with travelling and do not go into dark alleyways alone this year. Take extra security measures and if confronted by anyone, remain calm or else matters could escalate with grave consequences."

Holy shiat, these Chinese fortunes don't fark around do they.

Woohoo!  Romance!

So I shouldn't go down dark alleys and I should remain calm if confronted.
Hmm. Going down dark alleys and escalating confrontations are not exactly things that I have gone out of my way to do in the past so I should be OK.
Anyway, I should be safe because I am also a Gemini on the cusp of Lesbian.

That sounds like a FBI Travel Warning more than a horoscope.

Tell that to the tourists at Arches National Park wearing fashion boots on their way to Delicate Arch.

"The Chinese New Year can begin on any day from the end of January to the middle of February, so when looking up your sign, you must take note of when the year actually begins - and ends - especially if you were born in January or February."

Absolutely. When I first read about Chinese astrology, it was in a book that completely ignored that fact. And everything I read about Monkey Year people was absolute nonsense regarding me. Sometime after moving to SF, and finding out about Chinese New Year, I began to question it again, and sure enough, since I was born BEFORE Chinese New year, turns out I am a Sheep, and that fitted perfectly.

Western astrology works, imperfectly, because the self is the universe, and the planets, sun and moon (not stars) have influence.

Chinese astrology works, imperfectly, by human consciousness, which IS a force of nature. If a billion plus humans believe we will be more loyal, more dogged-determined, in the Year of the Dog, we will be.

Be especially careful with travelling and do not go into dark alleyways alone this year. Take extra security measures and if confronted by anyone, remain calm or else matters could escalate with grave consequences in bed. That's every year, really.

Nope, not if you're in Japan. Year of the Dog starts on Western calendar's January 1, 2018
