I know they won't do this, but Richt needs to be suspended for the first game of 2018. That was unacceptable, and if an African-American player did the same thing, you'd hear howls from the far-right screaming to kick the thug off the team.

A pretty asinine over reaction considering that kind of holding is not called in literally every football game at every level of the game.

Calls that you should be allowed to show that level of anger about:
Targeting
Late Hits
Deliberate Face Mask
Clipping
Roughing The Passer
Roughing The Kicker/Punterr
Horse Collar Tackle
Anything else that would result in the injury of one of your players.

Calls that you should NOT be allowed to show that level of anger about:
ANYTHING FARKING ELSE.

I guess it's a good thing the player benches are too heavy for one person to throw onto the field.

pushing an official (flag thrown) then grabbing an official, should have followed with an ejection

He can keep his turnover chain in the off season to remind him of how good things were

The PhotoShopped images and/or videos out there which are clearly Michigan propaganda are not of me punching a ref.

I love Paul Chryst with the "Turnover chain, my farking ass" lip reading and the Wisconsin players ripping imaginary turnover chains.

I still remember that Woody Hayes thing vividly.   After a Clemson player intercepted the ball, stopping an Ohio State drive and sealing the victory,  Hayes rushed the guy and punched him.  The Clemson player just kind of standing there, befuddled and not believing what was going on.

But the announcers refused to acknowledge what had happened and basically not showing any instant replays as to what had occurred.  In some time zones, including mine, there was a short time the announcers did not know their audio was on and one actually said something along of the lines of "damndest thing I ever saw, Woody punching that kid."  Then when they came back on the air, playing it off as they had seen/heard nothing.

BTW, Richt should have been tossed.   He went way over the line pushing and grabbing officials.

Yes, but you have clearly fallen for the misinformation campaign from one of the institutions mentioned above. Since that is the case, naturally it is my right to defend myself and correct the record which I am sure you can agree with.

There seems to be an element of confusion involved in your posts. You were commenting upon the unprofessional actions of Mark Richt which involved him making physical contact with a referee and your exact words were "you never go full woody hayes." I have never and would never act in an untoward manner towards those who seek to keep the playing field level and as safe as possible for the players and it is obvious that your comment concerning me was conflating the act of laying hands on a referee and the debunked evidence of me purportedly punching a nice young man by the name of Charlie Bauman. Surely you can understand why somebody would take issue with your words?

The "funny" thing is that Charlie Bauman didn't even know he had been punched at the time, though the interesting thing in a "life is funny" sort of way is that Bauman now lives in Ohio, became an Ohio State fan, and regularly attends Ohio State games.

I'm not a psychologist but I'd allow for the possibility of a layman's understanding of something related to Stockholm Syndrome.

So Hayes really did knock him senseless.

You can't hold a senile old man in the 1970s to today's woke standards.

Tough for me to comment because I'm a biased source Wisconsin fan. That said it was pretty tough to see that Kentucky RB get booted from a game for what he did and not this coach.

Personally the main change I'd like to see here is the ability to enforce some very very limited rules at any point in the game.  It had to have been exceptionally clear to the refs as they sat at halftime they should have booted him. I don't see why they can't just come out at half and rectify their mistake.

To be fair, Woody did buy a Clemson fan a month of Total Fark, so it has been kind of hard for me to hold a grudge for the whole Bauman thing....

We expect nothing less, as usual he escaped with 3-4 wins that could have easily been losses and when luck doesnt bounce your way they will be losses with the team finishing at 6-7.

Liked the man, hated him as a coach.
