Well, of course. He, personally, didn't do it - that's what his staff is for, after all.

When a fake doctor talk show host needs to have a staff to ensure plausible deniability, perhaps it's time to look a bit more closely at this kind of "entertainment."

He didn't force them to take the substances they were addicted to.  He just put it in their dressing room.

If they wanted sensible people to appear on the show, drugs would have been the only way that would happen.

He has a PhD in psychology but I'm certain the rest of the world is ok with you assailing nuance, impugning a profession's collective hard work and accomplishments, and blindly trusting everyone with an M.D. from Ron Paul to Mehmet Oz.

Oh yay. Just one more scummy thing he's done for people to ignore or promptly forget about and keep putting him on TV anyway. It's not the first, and I doubt it will be the last.

I thought that was Sleeping Beauty, not Snow White.  Then again, could have been both.  It is the Grimm tales, after all.

Pretty well. He should have been relegated to the dust heap of obscurity years before now, but instead he keeps being able to profit from his fame. Doesn't matter that he was farking one of his teen patients, doesn't matter he had to give up his license to practice medicine, doesn't matter that his advice is counter-productive, doesn't matter that he's unethical, doesn't matter his fame and tragedy exploitation seeking behavior seems to be limitless... The only thing that matters is that he has name recognition and so there's always someone who thinks they can use that to make a buck.

Oprah has a lot to answer for: This twunt and Dr. Oz, and wasn't there some "childhood expert" she used to have on her show who was accused of child molestation?

What is this license to practice medicine everyone keeps citing? He has never had a license to practice medicine. He had a license to practice psychology, which he gave up years ago, but that is very different than practicing medicine.  One big difference, no DEA license to prescribe drugs.

People seem to confuse psychologists with psychiatrists.

Have any more sources about the abuse? That article didn't seem very thorough and I'm genuinely curious about it. My SO watches Dr. Phil all the time. I could understand if she was a 50 year old house wife but we're relatively young.

Abso-farking-lutely, because he's a lying, moronic quack about whom you know only because Oprah pushed him. He's caused more harm than good in this world, and continues to do so because of name recognition, not expertise.

He needs to be ridden out of town on a rail every goddamned time he shows up.

So he's Mr. Phil, then? He's careful not to call what he does 'medicine', but he sure rides the title proudly. I have a 'doctorate' too, in bullshiat (actually 'Divinity Studies' from the Universal Life Church), but I don't call myself Dr. Brainsick and sell 'advice' because that's dishonest. Like 'Dr.' Phil.

Yeah all psychologists do their work on-camera with a therapeutic technique that can best be described as,"exploit vulnerable people."
OZ and Phil are both quacks.
