Are we using Global Warming as a code word for Millennials now?

Ironically, most of us would think the weather was improving.

1nsanilicious: Are we using Global Warming as a code word for Millennials now?

No.  Global Warming is code for Global Warming.  Anybody who thinks otherwise has fallen victim to the "fake news" the politicians, business people, and job creators have been fabricating for the past 30+ years so they don't actually have to do anything about fixing the mess they've made that scientists and educated people have been telling them would happen for 30+ years now.  I'm 33 and this has been going on since I can remember.

If anything, Global Warming is code for "Gen X had no balls to stand up to the Boomers when their time came making Gen X just as complacent and guilty as the Boomers".  Quit throwing my age group under the bus for things y'all were ignoring when I was born and mostly still ignore now.

Gen X, you might have given us the Internet, game consoles, computers, and more, but you were "Yes Men" to the Boomers for everything outside of gay peoples' rights.  War on Drugs?  Thanks X.  War on Terror?  Thanks X.  DMCA?  Thanks X.  Gay Rights?  Thanks X.  Global Warming?  It was fake, nothing done; Thanks X.  NAFTA?  Thanks X.  Crony Capitalism in the 80's that's leading the downall of the nation?  Thanks X.  Outsourcing Jobs?  Thanks X.  Corporate Bailouts?  Thanks X (M's were in our 20's and wanted them to fail).  Corporate Welfare?  Thanks X....hell....if anything, X is worse than the Boomers....Boomers as least have the excuse that they really didn't know the ramifications and long-term effects.  X knew the ramifications, the long-term effects...X FIGURED THEM OUT...and went right along with it while also screwing over the economy beyond the Boomers' wildest dreams in the process.

....generational generalizations generally suck, don't they?

This list is bizarre.  I'm an older Millennial, and many Gen-Xers were coming of age or in their very early adulthood when most of these things began.  Gen-X is only now starting to come into positions of political and C-level exec power.

I also know plenty of Millennials that are fine with the status quo.  We might be more "woke" than our parents, but the Boomers thought that too.  I doubt we will remain as "pure" as we think ourselves.

The people in power use generational divides (along with racial, gender, and others) to exploit us.  All it does is shift blame around and makes people angry and defensive.  It fixes nothing.

So long as Colorado wine country is safe. If need be we might be able to move some vineyards up to the Mesa.

No, they'll just lobby for champagne to be allowed to be produced outside of the Champagne province in France and still be called champagne.

....that was the point....Millennials get blamed for all sorts of stuff that happened when we were coming of age and earlier....so I listed random stuff that occurred when X was coming of age and earlier like what happens to my age-group every time someone old gets pissed off because things aren't like they used to be...

I assumed the line "....generational generalizations generally suck, don't they?" would have made that clear.

Only for a little while. As CO2 levels continue to rise, eventually all beverages will auto-carbonate when exposed to the atmosphere. Champagne will be fizzier than ever!

The amount of ignorance in this post is staggering. You hold very strong opinions - and don't seem interested if they are based in any reality.

But that was a lot of words and you typed all of them. Unless you used speak to text, I guess.

Punctuate.

I thought there was a theory of evolution called "punctuated equilibrium" and human caused global warming is exactly the sort of sudden environmental change that would punctuate it - lead to a spurt in change.

The rich won't mind paying a little more for Champagne. Everyone else will be happy with sparking wine.

I know wine grapes like hot weather. Particularly hot, dry weather. Are champagne grapes different?

Champagne can be made from Pinot Noir grapes and they prefer a cooler climate for optimal growth. Higher temperatures lead to higher sugar levels and lower acid levels, which tends to mean a more alcoholic wine. To make a high-quality Champagne with the right characteristics, you need grapes with a higher acidity level.
