Back when I was younger, we didn't have supermoons every goddam month.

Thanks, CCR!

I couldn't decide between "So all the dead people of 2017 will respawn?" or "So Mother Nature is going to force us to scoop?" as my joke for this.

Wonder no longer.  The answer is no.  I've heard "eat shiat and die" and "barking mad".

I think I am too east to see it. If the eclipse timing is closer to moonrise, then you should get a pretty large looking red moon. That would be cool to see.  I might get the tripod out and try and get some pics of the full moon. The increased apparent size might yield more detail.

It would be better if I lived in a darker sky area like I did growing up. I really miss seeing the stars and milky way. Here you would be lucky to see Orion's belt or Ursa Major.

January 2018 will also have a Blue Moon, leaving February with no full moon this year.  The last time February didn't have a full moon was 1999.

March also will have a Blue Moon, same as 1999.
I think both things happen when February doesn't have one.
