They just need a QB to make Bowles look like a genius.

given the talent level of the Jets roster - the fact that they've won five games this season almost makes Bowles look like a coaching genius

/I say almost because this is the Jets we're talking about here and I'm pretty sure he'll be gone by week six next season

Asinine? They were expected to go full '08 Lions this year, I wouldn't be surprised if Woody gives 'em big bonuses.

Considering they exceeded their rather low expectations this season, it's not the worst move out there. Whom would you replace him with that is available?

/their best move was getting rid of Brandon Marshall

Maybe they can get McAdoo as a defensive line coordinator.  He was such a giant success for another New York team and all.

As long as you do not take *any* of his suggestions on how to be a Head Coach, you should be fine.

I hear/read about how they were supposed to go 0-16 but the over/under win total before the season (in Vegas) was 5. I assume all of you must have bet the house on the under.

Obviously not or that over/under number would have dropped way down as the bets poured in.

This. People were predicting that they would win one or two games this year.

Don't ask Belichick about the James Harrison situation. He's far too occupied trying to figure out how to beat the Jets.

I just know he goes to bed at night chuckling to himself that after all these years even the Boston media is struggling to figure him out.

The Browns have clearly shown us that the road to success is paved with the complete overhaul of the front office and coaching staff every couple years.  The Jets would have been smart to emulate their success.

I kinda expected this performance, but that was only because of Bowles.
These are the truths of NFL wins/losses.
1. Talent matters most, and most teams have 8 win talent.
1a. 4 have 10-11 win talent. 4 have 5-6 win talent.
1b. 0-2 teams will have very good talent (12 wins) or very bad talent (4 wins).
2. Good coaches will manufacture at most 2 wins. Bad coaches can blow 2-4 wins.
3. Luck (disguised as coaching or 'play-making') will determine 2 wins/losses.
4. Once a decade some team will have the talent, coaching, schedule, and luck to seriously consider 16-0 or 0-16.
5. Browns.

The real takeaway is not the 5 wins but that they were competitive in the majority of their games.  They seem to be getting rid of cancers on the team and the guys that are buying in really believe in what Bowles is selling. As a fan I expected 2 wins as the season started and drafting Sam Darnold. They were better than advertised and that sucks for drafting purposes.

Say what you will but I bet tomorrow's game is a lot closer than people will think.  Petty will have some decent plays and they'll be in it until about midway through the third then they'll remember they are the Jets

They already tried Geno Smith, so what other advice could he give them?

I bet the Boston media figured out he was a giant douche years ago. It's not that difficult.

Prediction:
Trap game, Patriots lose to the Jets by 3 thus continuing their 5 year streak of having 50% of their losses come from within their own division. They lose home field advantage in the playoffs and fans struggle to understand what the hell happened. Eventually, fans decided Belichick is a genius and he lost on purpose because the Patriots "away" record is better than their home record this year, and thus playing on the road is the real advantage. Once again he demonstrates how he is playing 3D Star Trek style Chess while everyone else is playing tiddlywinks.

Bring in Johnny Football and Tim Tebow both. On 3-yr, $45 million guaranteed contracts.

This. Division games are always tough, and looking at what the fish did to the Patriots a few weeks ago does not bode well for New England. A win is not a given, and I'm surprised that Pittsburgh is sitting out there 3 big guns on offense, with home field throughout on the line.

2 intimidated
