Just wait.  All the boys will get tired of losing to a girl, decide it's less shameful to be Trans, then go beat the tar out of the girl's basketball teams.

Riche: Well, that's a quick way to second base.

Even quicker way to lose a match too.  The rules protect the female wrestlers from holds or moves that involves certain areas, while the females don't have the same restrictions.  It's why coed wrestling is a joke, the boys have half their moves negated by the rules before they even step on the mat.  I've heard many male wrestlers, forced to face a female, just flop down on the mat, and surrender.

That's not really true at all. The part of the story I knew before I RTFA was that she was a low weight freshman. She's equal physically and doing well. The really impressive thing will be if she hits a growth spurt and moves up a few weight classes and then continues to win tourneys.

I think she's been offered a contract by Lifetime cable to make her story into a made-
for-TV "chick flick".

I was going to ask because it sounded odd, the bit about the rules prohibiting guys from doing things to girls. So in no way is that true, other than no hooking in the cootch or general stuff to the other person's privates which guys can't do to other guys too?

Having done physical things throughout my life I've got a pragmatic view of when people talk about "equality" because what they really mean is "we're equal until I want special treatment" and then the guy becomes the asshole by default when he disapproves. I can take nothing away from that girl though, good on her and I hope she maintains her outlook. I say shame on anybody who shiats on her.

I was a certified PIAA referee for 20 years, wrestled from 9 years old through college and I've never seen, refed, or heard of a match where there were different rules depending on opponent. I've done matches from junior olympic, jr high, and high school and yes some matches where there were female competitors.

Equality is pretty much built into wrestling. Not talent obviously but in regards to relative physical ability it is. Age and weight limits determine that easily. Grade school and middle school years any kid in the age/weight class will have similar traits and girls do as well as their talent will carry them. If the girl FTFA stays at her weight class in the future, she'll have more success. Like I mentioned above, it's when you get into the middle weights and up in varsity wrestling that there will be a gap that will be difficult for a girl to compete with.

/good luck to your guys against USC Woody

So what you're saying is "don't fark with you?" Cool, man, no problem.

A local radio guy tells a story about how he was at the bar with a buddy and his buddy and another guy started getting into it verbally. The guy's friend leans over to him and asks him if he has his back if it goes south and the radio guy saw the other fellow had cauliflower ears so his immediate response was in the negative. Wrestlers are crazy.

Thanks for the good luck against Troy.

As a guy, I'd observe that there is nothing quite like getting your arse handed to you in an athletic contest where the rules are equal.  CSB:  Back in the day, I'd go to the gym and play pickup basketball.  Teams were more or less randomly formed and games were pretty good.  Most players had high school basketball experience and had decent high school like skills.  One day, a crew of sort of tall and athletic looking college women got in the que and when their time to play came up, my team was their opponent.  The score started 0-0 and that was as close as we got.  They ran more back door plays than old school Princeton.  When our guys started figuring out how to stop that, they just rained three pointers.  I don't think a team I was on was ever beaten so thoroughly.  Turned out the women were the school's basketball team starting five and we didn't know it till they were done with us.  I wish women athletes the very best in their endeavors.  These women who wrestle are probably something pretty special.
