It's important that people physically show up to your nearest rally and make a goddamn show that we will not stand for this. Laws apply to everyone or we have a tyrannical government.

Your grandchildren will ask if you were there. Don't lie to them, tell them you stood up for what was right when the time came.

Do it. I'll be at the St Louis event. Any farker finds me I'll buy you a beer.

Instructions for a Constitutional Crisis

Originally posted: https://twitter.com/SethAbramson/status/942146451026608128

Highlights on actions suggested:
21/ What all this means is that if Trump takes *any* action against Mueller, our rule of law is *gravely* threatened. Even if you think Mueller's work needs careful oversight, there's already a *Trump appointee*-Rosenstein-who's doing that and certifies the probe has been honest.

22/ So all Americans, no matter their political stripe or what chance you think there is that Trump is guilty-1% or 90%-should do what Americans did during the Watergate Era if Trump fires Mueller: take to the streets and swarm Congress' phone lines until rule of law is restored.

23/ If this happens, you can expect peaceful disruptions in American life for *some time*. Mass protests that block highways and buildings and shut down parts of cities; mass walkouts from jobs and schools; a media atmosphere in which only one story-this one-can be or is covered.
More

24/ The key here is that the protests must not and cannot stop until rule of law is restored: a Mueller investigation, overseen (as now) by Trump appointee Rosenstein, which has unfettered access to evidence and witnesses in an effort to find the truth-and justice-for Americans.

I'm even thinking of pre-making signs.

Doesn't matter how long it takes. Doesn't matter if you get arrested for blocking traffic -- there will be plenty of police there joining with us. We must fight for the future of the USA. We must remember Democracy is not free. We must decide what kind of world we want to leave to our kids. We must not let them instill another puppet investigator who will blow this off. We must not stand idle while they attack Mueller's character and try to discredit the investigation using their Russia botnet.

We must peacefully protest until the Mueller investigation is fully restored by Congress.

If this goes down while I am at my ultra-conservative in-laws' house in Boston, there will be a really interesting discussion on why my husband and I are leaving to protest. Usually any excuse to get away from the OANN blaring TV that's constantly on in the background there is a relief but this one is obviously one I'd rather the country avoided.

Nobody is above the law?  What are you smoking?  Whatever it is, you'd be arrested for smoking it; whereas, a billionaire's son or daughter would almost certainly not.  My God, even Trump has been found to have committed multiple counts of fraud but only went to civil court... it's a FELONY to knowingly defraud people... for some of us, anyway.  Boys were being sent to prison for dodging the draft while Donald Trump managed to dodge it without a second glance...

There are plenty of people above the law...

He is not going to get away with this shiat.

I'll repeat what many others have said, if trump fires Robert Mueller, it is the right of the Majority of Americans nationwide to shut this country down in peaceful, sustained protests. South Korea did it by the millions and it resulted in the downfall of their corrupt leader.

Csb.... I had a short fiction piece published in a Spanish magazine (as in supporting magazine to Spanish education) about the dirty war when I was an undergrad. My teacher did all the work submitting it and I didn't get paid it I have a copy of it somewhere that proves I'm a writer.

Another part of the protests, equally important: STOP SPENDING MONEY YOU DON'T ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO

Pretend you just got fired.  Hoard your cash.  Don't invest.

Stop eating at restaurants, stop shopping online and in stores.  Evaluate what you actually need.  Don't buy a car unless you will lose your ability to get to work, and then buy one locally from an ad rather than a dealer if possible.  Don't buy a new phone unless you are about to lose your ability to communicate, and then if you must try to find one locally on craigslist.  Buy food (in a grocery store), gas, shelter, utilities.  If you must have new clothes buy them from a charity thrift store if you possibly can.

Consider skipping the visit to your relatives this year.

If this happens in the days before Christmas we have the chance to damage a large part of the economy during the time they expect to make most of their profit for the year.  It will be noticed.  Again, PRETEND YOU JUST GOT FIRED.  When Trump is under investigation again, you got a new job and you can start spending (if you want to, you might find that you enjoy your simplified lifestyle).

People who read moveon.org are not the ones whose response matters. If you want to get rid of Trump, convince half the Republicans in Congress he needs to go. That means convincing voters in red districts, who follow different web sites if they follow any at all.

I didn't look at where other rallys are being held, but I strongly disagree with the location for the one in Houston. Blocking access to City Hall and Downtown areas on December 23 in Houston is not going to have much of an impact as those areas will be closed and deserted for the holidays anyway.

Blocking access to the Galleria on December 23rd and 24th would be REALLY damn powerful.

This is correct. The current narrative there is that Mueller has put together a team of partisan hacks who have an axe to grind because their saviour Hillary didn't get elected and want payback. Because his team is so compromised to their vendetta, Trump has no choice but to replace him. They will see any rallies described as unreasonable whining by sore losers who are trying to undermine the rule of law because they have Trump Derangment Syndrome.

Do you have a local Indivisible group?  I've been signed up for this for months through my local Indivisible group - there may already be something out there indirectly associated with MoveOn.  (For me it was a Facebook "event" through Indivisible.  Should Mueller get fired, a message would go out that way).

Now who is denying real evidence?  10,000 text messages from a rabid Hillary supporter undermining the independence of that investigation and changing communications there and referring to their "insurance policy" if Trump got elected?

Mueller's team members and Mueller himself absolutely are grinding partisan political axes.  Don't try to deny it.  You're simply upset that it might itself get the axe.
