Goshdarnit!

2017-12-07 11:41:27 AM
Is he going to run for the Senate as a Republican now?

2017-12-07 11:41:29 AM
Don't let the door grope your ass on the way out.

2017-12-07 11:41:45 AM
Good.  I hope the Republicans do the same with Trump and Moore, but I doubt it...

2017-12-07 11:41:52 AM
Please replace him with Keith Ellison.

Trump and Moore are next, right?

2017-12-07 11:41:54 AM
What means this? Green lit thread already there.

2017-12-07 11:41:55 AM
Meanwhile, child-molesters are running the White House and going to to Congress because IOKIYAR.

2017-12-07 11:42:03 AM
That sucks.

2017-12-07 11:42:14 AM
Glad to see that politicians are finally being held to the same standards as the rest of us.

Well, Democrat politicians.

2017-12-07 11:42:21 AM
And the gop adds another trick to the playbook.

2017-12-07 11:42:28 AM
I'm a sad panda drinking whiskey now. I really liked the guy.

2017-12-07 11:42:30 AM
So this means that Roy Moore is also dropping out, right?

2017-12-07 11:42:55 AM
Getting my C-Span on.

2017-12-07 11:43:13 AM
This is now the 23rd Franken thread to come forward. He's toast.

2017-12-07 11:43:36 AM
*sigh*

It's the right thing to do.  Having been handed the title of "Party of Fiscal Responsibility" they will be able to claim "Party of Personal Responsibility".

It's a high price though.

2017-12-07 11:43:37 AM
Damnit!

2017-12-07 11:44:19 AM
Roy Moore and Trump about to stick their foot in their mouths any minute now.

2017-12-07 11:44:43 AM
All these years I thought I was special. Maybe I was harassed because I was attractive.

Nope. Turns out there are just a surprising number of creeps in this world.

2017-12-07 11:44:50 AM
Apparently neither good enough, nor smart enough, and people didn't like him. Mainly groping and tonguing them.

2017-12-07 11:44:53 AM
Why even have a system for ethics investigations if all it takes is accusations to unseat a senator.

I can't wait until every other democratic senator has a dozen anonymous accusations happen over the next year.

2017-12-07 11:45:07 AM
No fears, this will give him "moore" time to be with his fans....

2017-12-07 11:45:19 AM
Idiot, he should have just denied denied denied and made lame excuses.

2017-12-07 11:45:28 AM

From Philly to Boston: Is he going to run for the Senate as a Republican now?

That would be cruel, even as a joke announcement.

To actually do so? I love it.

2017-12-07 11:46:15 AM
Nice job my fellow dems......losing the game isn't enough for ya, huh?  You've got to farking throwthe game on purpose...

As I said in the other thread...all you righteous assholes saying he should resign...this is a farking warwe are in...and we just willingly gave up one of our best senators.

The GOP wants our blood, and they've gotten it....next they want our souls...they are dismantling everything President Obama did, and now they're coming for your parents SS and Medicare....

Get it through your thick heads, dems......THIS IS A farkING WAR, AND WE ARE LOSING.   AL FRANKEN RESIGNING IS THE STUPIDEST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN.

2017-12-07 11:46:20 AM
gg Dems gg

From Philly to Boston: Is he going to run for the Senate as a Republican now?

The great state of Mississippi could use him. And it's right next to Minnesota, alphabetically.

2017-12-07 11:46:48 AM
Democrats holding themselves to a higher moral standard in the hopes that it will spur the family values Republican party to uphold the same standards.

Jokes on them. Nothing matters to the GOP except winning. Nothing. Up to and including molesting children.

Sacrificial lamb.

2017-12-07 11:47:03 AM
I am rather irritated that these allegations are coming out now rather than when they occurred over a decade ago.  Too bad neither Moore or Trump will be held to the same standards.

2017-12-07 11:47:14 AM

Charletron: This is now the 23rd Franken thread to come forward. He's toast.

Actually, he will come out of this smelling like a rose.

And it would be wonderful if he switches to the Republican Party.

2017-12-07 11:47:18 AM
It's a sad day here, but he does need to step down.

2017-12-07 11:47:18 AM

Peter von Nostrand: And the gop adds another trick to the playbook.

Having a woman slide her ass over Al Franken's hand?

2017-12-07 11:47:29 AM
As much as I'm disturbed by his actions, I'm just so BUMMED that we're losing him.
He was supposed to be one of the good guys, who helped us stand strong against those who are lacking in integrity and honesty and human decency. And now...who do we stand with in his place?

If you're a liberal who is ringing your hands because you're worried about the agenda, you're being a hypocrite.

2017-12-07 11:47:50 AM
Congratulations to the DNC for successfully deflecting, providing red meat for Hannity and Fox&Friends, and yet again propelling a GOP sex offender into a position of political power! That's twice in 2 years.  Way to stay focused, you self-righteous idiots, do you think that going after the easier targets is going to get you some kind of political capital with the White House?

No.  It's not the right thing to do.  But, it's what we do...we shoot ourselves in the foot while the 'pubs steal the country and make the world unstable.

2017-12-07 11:47:55 AM
Great, so Franken has to leave but child molester lunatic Moore will be voted in, in Alabama.

In the future when non-Fox media is all in jail, when it will be said that we have always been at war with Eurasia, and Emperor Trump generously increases all of our chocolate rations on a weekly basis... At least we will be able to look our children in the eyes and say, "yes, but Al Franken resigned, so it was all worth it"

NeoCortex42: Why even have a system for ethics investigations if all it takes is accusations to unseat a senator.

Because that is politics.  Just make the other party look bad, regardless of whether or not they actually are.

RolandTGunner: Idiot, he should have just denied denied denied and made lame excuses.

Franken is an honest man, which is why I think if he runs again he will be right back in the Senate.

Deny and accuse is the GOP formula for short term gain and long term implosion.

2017-12-07 11:48:17 AM
And the undeclared war between the US and Russia scores another goal for Putin.

Goddamit so much. Kamala Harris and every single Democratic invertebrate that demanded this has now handed a major win to the people trying to undo all the gains of the last 100 years. Complaining about sexual harassment? Try going back to the days of regular maternal mortality and no abortion, of no childcare, impossibly expensive medical care, and no safety net. Try keeping a job when nobody has to hire you if you don't put out. Senator? President? Forget it.

I bet this is all NASA's doing - they want us to move to Mars, don't they? I'm ready.

What?

2017-12-07 11:48:36 AM
What's important is the Dems gain the respect of all those voters who'll otherwise support Nazis and child molesters.

Sometimes the swamp can drain itself a little.

We don't deserve him

// Gives him time to set up a run for 2020

The lesson here is apparently that it is worse to behave poorly in the past than it is to behave poorly NOW.

Governor of MN will choose his replacement.
