Good voice, but it losses something being an octave or two below the original.

I think Dio Brando could sing "Rainbow in the Dark" (The theme song of every great 80's AD&D campaign) better than Puddles could.

It was...OK I guess.

I was expected it to be bit more grandiose and operatic like how Ronnie did it and I know Puddles could do.

I can't decide whether the ghost of RJD would smile or frown upon this performance... but I'm gonna go with smile, because the dude smiled at farking everything.

Yeah, the Heavy metal Midget would have LOVED this, I'm not sure why you even have to ask the question.

I don't think it was supposed to be.

This whole post-modern jukebox thing is getting really old as far as I'm concerned, but the guy has a great voice.  It's a shame talent can only get noticed when it dresses up like a (literal, in this case) clown.

He performs as himself without the makeup several times a year in Atlanta.  He does an annual Christmas show as Big Mike Geier And Kingsized and he performs at Trader Vic's every now and then as Tongo-Hiti, which is half exotica and half Puddles-style covers.
He's a hell of a performer, whatever outfit he's got on.

Look, I'm from the 80s and I'm cool with the music that Dio made, but (and I'm sure there's some obscure reason why I'm wrong) a rainbow in the dark is impossible, therefore nothing can be like one because they don't exist.  Thus, I think this is a lyrically stupid song and I don't like it.  Your mileage may vary.

As others have pointed out, PPP isn't meant to be funny. I would enjoy his live videos more if the idiots in the audience would stop with the WHOOs and the laughs and just shut up and listen to his incredible singing.

Dammit. I hate it when I don't notice the bad grammar in a meme until after I post it.

TBF I just woke up.

So here's a Puddles and PMJ with bonus of ridiculously hot back up singers:

Yeah, the whole running joke of his obsession with Kevin Costner is funny as hell. Especially when he does a Waterworld themed performance of "We Don't Need Another Hero".
