That's a pretty common concept.

Here's another useful anecdote: If your management says you don't need a union, you really need a union.

He also had an interesting story when he was in the states working with UPS and saw their policy handbook.  they have specific protocols for when someone goes postal. He asked why it seemed to be such a common occurrence. The guy said it was actually pretty simple, when you have that many employees odds are someone was going to go loonie.

Even with the union, they get farked in a lot of rather comical ways since Harper installed someone who seemingly wanted to destroy Canada Post. They no longer buy them supplies...thus, they have to scavenge pens from any of those promotional mailers that can't be delivered.

/Under the circumstances, Canada Post is fantastic.

How did the postal worker hear that lady say she won't have a job for long?  The window in the postal truck was up and the lady wasn't screaming it.

A friend whose mother worked at the U S Postal service got her daughter a job there.  She wrecked a number of vehicles including the Grumman ones that they were so proud of.  They put her in a post office but her customer service skills were actually below USPS standards so they had her loading trucks with a supervisor making sure everything was getting on the right truck.  Just as in Cheers when someone at the post office pulled a "Claven", her last name was indication that some one messed up.  She quit but now laments that she could have done 20 years of being told which box went on which truck.

Very smart chick.  Just liked to see stuff burn.

Not that excellent.  Not even the union can get her out of this one.  She might not lose her job, but I expect some unpaid suspension is in order at the very least, and that's only in the unlikely event that she didn't break any traffic laws.

Canada Post is also farking expensive to ship anything.  I've had a lost package for a few weeks myself, and have even had packages end up in entirely the wrong province.  Fortunately it's not a frequent occurrence, at least not in my experience.

I dunno about the $1 coins but a friend who did a contracting job on the Royal Oak Post Office said the employees pointed out all the bullet holes from THEIR rampage, & said the employees referred to their shooter as "St. Thomas" because the G.M. the gunman blamed (& took out) was so despised by them

She almost certainly won't lose her job.

She will get a write up. And required to do some sort of training or course.

She didn't appear to break any serious traffic laws in the video and the police said they arent looking to charge her.

She sounds like she would be fun to work with...

Rule # Your union can only go so far to protect you.
ANYONE can be fired - just some more paperwork with a union aka more work - work management may not want to be arsed to do.

"It's safe to say that the driver was probably distracted by their emotions and this could lead to an accident, which is a concern," Cpl. Scott Schumann, of Surrey RCMP, told CTV Vancouver.

Consideration level: Canadian.
