Women are taking the blame? Nice.

Well, you know England. THey'd never support a woman in charge.

Agreed.  It was pefectly fine to sideline the main character for several seasons and turn it into The Clara Show, but The Doctor being a woman was right out.  I didn't believe I could think less of Moffat than I already did, yet here we are.

Me, I'm psyched. I think she is a great actress and cute as buttons.

2016 I watched all of 9, 10 ,11 and 12 (till "The Return of Dr Mysterio (or whatever it is)". I DVRd the newest season and set about having my wife and daughter give it a shot.

We now only have the 2 Christmas Specials (River Song and Return) to go and we will all watch Season 10 and the upcoming special together.

I was also instructed to buy 4 Sonic Screwdrivers for Christmas (3 kids and her), my wife is getting a Tardis Hoodie and her new backpack will also be a Tardis deigned backpack.

I have converted the whole house. I have done good.

You owe it to yourself to watch "The Thick of It," with Peter Capaldi, before making any rash decisions.

Not that his decent run on Who can touch *that* greatness.  (And LORD that brilliant Scot can curse the chrome off a bumper)  But it didn't have anything as stupid as the paint exploding replicant turn from the Matt Smith era.

I liked Capaldi in the 2-3 episodes I watched.  He wasn't the problem, nor was Jenna Coleman.  I loved Smith, Gillan, and Darvill.  But Moffat's writing and overall direction of the show got progressively more annoying.

It started with him running the Weeping Angels into the ground in Seasons 5 and 7.  Then Coleman's companion became yet another bestest, most special person in time and space.  What finally made me give up were the two episodes with Robin Hood and her friend's monster under the bed.  I just lost interest in the show.

I'll still go back and watch an old Tennant or Smith episode if I find one on TV, unless it's one of the truly awful ones.

Well, his words do have a little meaning to me. I mean, I abandoned the show with this choad running it. It's little mental turds like that slideflopping out of his mouth that do a fantastic job of keeping me from going back and wasting time on his episodes. Now I don't have to be a completionist.

The War Doctor was bad enough. It's probably for the better to let someone else do The Affirmative Action Doctor given how interchangeable most of Moffat's female "characters" have been.

Meh, he did / said / says stupid things. On a long enough timeline all shows have stupid showrunners. On the flip side, you're letting him ruin it for you, which is also foolish. While I didn't like all of the stuff he did, it wasn't all terrible like some people like to pretend. The Clara bit was overdone, and so on, but it wasn't bad in totality. In fact some of the blame can firmly be laid at the feet of the Beeb for screwing with the show.

I have to agree with the whole weeping angels take, they were completely overused during Smith's run and lost all their menace. I do miss the days then the companion was mainly there to remind the Doctor about his humanity (I know, not human) and not to be the most important being in the history of ever.

If you're going to vote based on whether or not some internet rando insulted you, there's a good chance you weren't going to make intelligent choices to begin with.

"Which candidate you going to vote for, the one who's promising free cookies to everyone, or the one that's promised to detonate a nuclear bomb in every major city in the country?"
"Hell, I'm voting for the bomb guy...some cookie-voter called me names online, so fark their candidate.  Dangit, I just spilled my whiskey in my lap.  Would hand me that butane torch so I can dry up the spill?"

In 2004, Moffat was signed to write for the revival of Doctor Who. The BBC announced in May 2008 that Moffat would be taking over from Russell T Davies as head writer and executive producer for the revived show's fifth series,

Brexit -
In a referendum on 23 June 2016, 51.9% of the participating UK electorate (the turnout was 72.2% of the electorate) voted to leave the EU.

Trump received the votes of about a quarter of the population.

Given that a majority of Americans were opposed to interracial marriage until the goddamned 1990s, and given that tolerance for segregation enjoyed an electoral majority within living memory, I don't think it's exactly implausible that an eighth of Americans are racist.

Especially when so many of them go on the internet to brag that they vote for racists.

Trump supporters: "F*ck your feelings!"
Also Trump supporters: "I'm going to base my vote on you hurting my feelings!"

Like I said, people who base their vote on whether or not someone called them names are not people who are going to make intelligent decisions anyway.  The idea that Brexit and MAGA people would totally have voted differently if the anti-Brexit/Democrat folks had been nicer to them is an absurd fantasy that the sore winners like to trot out whenever they realize the mistake they made with their vote.

"Wait, we were lied to and we're not going to get anything we were promised?  Well, this is totally the fault of the other side calling us names.  If they'd just been nicer to us, we would have voted their way!"

Maybe some day they'll realize that personal responsibility is not just for people they disagree with.
