Their Messenger app is the reason I don't have facebook on my phone. I mean, I can still visit my facebook page on my phone, but just using the chronological url: https://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr

I can't read messages on my phone without the app, so I have to wait until I get home to my laptop.

Doesn't matter...almost all my messages are spam/hack shiat from people I don't know. It's an endless source of people to mess with then berate them for messaging me in the first place.

Do kids actually use Facebook?

I like FB because it's not a Disney Cruise overrun by children. And that's only to see what a few friends out-of-country are up to.

Snapchat and Instagram? I don't take pictures.

They're trying to groom children to be users, and I think letting parents have complete control over the accounts is a good idea. With parental transparency, it encourages reading and spelling abilities. Perhaps we need to groom a generation ready to be judged by their parents in their social media.

You are definitely doing something wrong and I'm guessing you were one of the primary candidates who continually linked to and shared Russian spambot posts.  I have never not even once gotten a messenger message from somebody I didn't know and have on my friends list.  No on second thought I did.  It was from one of my friends that I didn't have on my list so I told him to message me and I would add him.

My 12 & 17 year olds don't. Well the 12 year old did for a little bit but she and her friends have moved on to Instagram and text messages..

I like that the word "dangerous" is now being used in the same contexts as "facebook."

Kid Messenger: Official chat platform of the Russian mafia!

Nope. No interactive media until they can pay for it themselves.

All I ever do on facebook is post pictures I've taken or thoughts I've thunk. I rarely even click other people's posts. It's all real friends, family and sometimes the family or friends of those people. Then suddenly I was getting tons of requests to connect. I write back to these people and they didn't specifically write to me, but they don't deny forwarding stupid pictures and prayers and warnings of facebook hoaxes.
