Replace Kevin Spacey with Tom Hanks.  He can do the accent and he's got range.  "Now, Frank had told me everything he knew about Presidentin', but you know what I found out? Presidentin' is tough.

Good. Don't replace him with a male lead. fark that.

Mrs.Sharpier: Good. Don't replace him with a male lead. fark that.

Wouldn't be difficult to just kill him off.  Opening scene of the next season is at his funeral.

Frank Underwood needed assassinating. Preferably (as in House of Cards UK) by his own wife.

Can't wait.

Or Wally Shawn's?

Well Frank already resigned on the condition that Claire pardon him when she was sworn in as President, so this makes sense. She will renege on the deal and Frank will rot in jail.

Even better....

SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4.....

Frank never came out of the coma after the assassination attempt. The rest of Season 4 and all of Season 5 were a coma dream from his perspective.

Bring in Cary Elwes as a top-notch Navy SEAL after Claire is captured by a foreign leader for marriage.

Frank "Poochie" Underwood just had to return to his home planet. He left the stove on.

Beat me to it.

Yay! I like Robin Wright and her portrayal of Claire. The last two seasons were so far-fetched already. May as well have Frank shot into the sun at this stage.

Too late, show already jumped the shark.  I mean, if you still watch, I'm not going to be all smug and mock you.  It's just that my disbelief can only be suspended so much before it hangs itself from the ceiling.  And it got hung at the end of season 3, twitched for the first episode of season 4, and then finally died after the second episode.  I tried.  I really wanted to keep liking the show.  I just...couldn't.

Speak for yourself, Subby. Istill plan on voting for DeVito in 2020!

Not as far fetched as reality.

I quit a couple episodes into season, no motivation to bore the shiat out of myself

There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world.

And we probably still won't get to see them.

There are several dozen ways to get rid of Frank Underwood off-screen. I'm not that worried about whether or not they can make it "believable" because of just how over-the-top the show has become. My disbelief could no longer be suspended when they ran on the same ticket as President and Vice President.

But anyone who has been watching the show knows that there are more than several characters who have been sharpening their knives, and have the motive and capability to see through Frank Underwood's removal from the game, whether through outright murder or prison time.

He's spent the entire show from the very first episode making enemies out of dangerous people. Even if he's never seen once in the entire season, that's still poetic justice, because the one thing Frank Underwood feared more than anything else is being forgotten about entirely, which might very well bring closure to his reign.

In my opinion the show has always been about Claire getting what she wants, by any means necessary
I always thought Frank was just her 'current' ends-to-a-means

There's some impersonation Presidents show on CC, but a DeVito president show on an Always Sunny budget might be fun.

They should just cancel the show.  Without Frank Underwood it's pretty pointless.

They were heading this direction anyway, so it works out.

what they oughta do is have Claire wake up from a coma a year from now only to find the zombie apocalypse indeed happened, everyone around her has been zombified, and now she has to escape the White House to survive. that would be cool.

Bring back Zoe Barnes.

Maybe they'll "Chef" him out of the show

Yeah, the way Season 5 ended really, to me, made Frank something of a peripheral character anyway.  It's obvious Season 6 was going to be Claire''s story, anyway.

/is the UK version better than the US version?
//you might think that, i couldn't possibly comment

theurge14: Bring back Zoe Barnes.

How exactly would they do that?! She was splattered. I mean, she was in chunks all over the train tracks, and parts of her were no doubt electrocuted to a crisp on top of that. We saw it was really her, and not some other woman. That's a REALLY hard death to retcon unless they say it was a clone or time traveling alternate version of her or something like that.

I had hoped for some particularly vicious fate for the character, like South Park did for Chef. Now I wouldn't mind if they filmed it for real with Spacey.

It turns out she was one of many clones...
