Ever see the video of the English Brexiteer trying to burn the EU flag. Which won't burn, because the EU has some very sensible regulations on lots of different materials. It's brilliant.

Hey GOP, which do you hate more. Flag burning or regulations.

There was a guy down here who wanted to create a shiat cannon for all the confederate flags flying in front yards.  Of course he just finished some of the herb when he referred to those cracker assholes flying them as bullshiat .

As someone who once had an American flag stolen off his truck, while parked in SC, likely by someone who felt I should've been flying the confederate flag, I find this thread interesting.

One year during Independence week, I flew an American flag on my truck.  I got threats.  Then the night of July 4th, I went out with family, leaving the truck home.  It was vandalized when we got home, flag missing.

It's depressing that they haven't gotten over animosity from a war 150 years ago.  They probably have less animosity towards the Germans and Japanese.

Actually, the Confederate flag is popular among German Neo-Nazis who can't legally fly the swastika flag, so in fact literally true.

I was living in a small South Carolina town in the late 90s, everybody who talked to me at all about the flag on my truck told me it was wrong to wave the American flag because I was in the south.  I can't pin down who exactly, but after a couple hundred people (many I never met before) make mention of hating what I did, the motive is obvious.  The reason why they thought it was wrong, "It's your heritage to fly the confederate flag." in strong southern drawl.  I explained I was born in MI, they would say, "You live here now."  Last I checked, my heritage is not something based on current location.

It's going to an away game of your favorite team, and someone kicks your butt, taking your team's jersey off you, while yelling hateful stuff at you.  A fan of your team didn't do it.

I live in North Georgia and most people don't give a damn if you fly an American flag.  I used to fly one on my motorcycle for Patriot Guard stuff and never once had any insults, threats or anything other than thumbs ups and smiles.

However, you likely haven't been to Camden, SC.  The one town (Lugoff) over where two young black boys were picked up by cops because they were carrying a gun to protect themselves while trick or treating on Halloween.  There's a reason why those young boys were scared of being out on their own, and I don't blame them.

It's quite different than living anywhere in Richland Co, and why I have such a bad taste in my mouth about the south.

I was once in West Viriginia, doing some research at a radio telescope site.  One day while walking out the side gate of the site to go to the general store some local in a pick up truck flying a confederate flag yelled at us, "Stupid intellectuals!"  Yeah, the south is full of ignorant f*cktards.
