The commentary also said that the U.S. would regret "letting such a depraved and stupid guy occupy the Oval Office."

And not just the U.S! I think the only country that's happy is Russia.

It's sad when a country that doesn't have English as its local language can tweet and use a smarter vocabulary than the president of a country where English is spoken by most people.

Nork has been doing the same thing for decades.  Every time a new leader in the US, GB, SK, or Japan is elected, they rattle their sabre.  We send them some rice and they calm down.  I learned this shiat in high school.  Maybe Trump didn't go to high school.

Count me as one of the people uncomfortable with the notion that it's ok to support a totalitarian dictatorship because it's leader Insults an American president whom I disagree with on a number of policy issues. That whole "Hanoi Jane" thing didn't go over well back in the 70s and I struggle to see how someone calling themselves an American today could hate the president so much that they would actually verbally support a sworn enemy of our country. Sorry guys but I can't go with you down this road; Trump sucks, sure, but NK is actually evil. Fark em.

I think North Korea is an absolutely evil regime and would never wish upon anyone the things that go on in that country.  Whether it was actually on purpose or the result of translation software or an attempt to translate a korean word into english, I will forever be impressed with the moniker of Dotard attached to Trump.

It is so perfect that it is amazing that it had not come out earlier.

He's not right. We already regret electing Trump. It's like waiting for your clock to synch up with your phone - the clock isn't right, it's just a coincidence that it reads the same as your phone an hour ago.

Kim Jong Un tweets enough to be right twice a day?  Even Trump has trouble being wrong that many times a day.  Trump didn't hit 1000 lies (as president) until August 4th or 5th.
/Trump could crank up the hits by posting his scorecards
//does each hole count, or merely the act of signing the card?
///just like the song, according to the USGA it doesn't count until you sign it on the dotted line.

You can say Kim Jong Un is correct without supporting him. NK is an evil regime, which makes it particularly amusing when they cast highly accurate shade at Trump. It's like laughing at an Adam Sandler movie, it doesn't make it good, just momentarily funny.

You realize that acknowledging a person said one true thing is not the same thing as wholeheartedly supporting all their words or actions right. I don't see anyone singing Kim's praises here.  That line of unnuanced logic is getting more common in internet culture.

I too am concerned about this concerning development. I remain fine with trump agreeing with putin vs. the rest of the world on every single topic. It's different when it's just somebody telling it like it is.

He can be evil and still be right about us regretting trump. It's not like anyone is saying "wow, maybe I've misjudged the Norks" they're just saying "man, even the norks know this dude is an asshole"

But the 'Norks' (a bit of an ethnocentrist term that I'm also a bit uncomfortable with) were also calling Obama a stupid monkey, claiming that he should be put on display in an African zoo, etc. The fact of the matter is that they call every American president an asshole, and we generally ignore them because that's what they always do. Now, because we happen to dislike the moran in charge of the United States, we gleefully give the crackpot dictator all kinds of attention and airtime. Worse even are the people picking up the olde English words used by their translators and placing it nonchalantly into their own everyday speech. Do you people not realise that you are literally picking up propaganda from an anti-US power and that re-using it reinforces the message for America's enemy?

Not seeing the benefit here, really. This whole Trump vs North Korea spat is turning into the 'ow my balls' of Asian geopolitics. Think I may start avoiding these threads like I do anything coming from Twitter. Too much celebrity gossip on the Politics tab these days...

FTFA:In theory, North Korea is a bastion of socialism, a country where the state provides everything, including housing, health care, education and jobs. In reality, the state economy barely operates anymore.

Those two sentences mean the same thing.

wutpear to the max

Trump contradicted his public statements in every successive photo op. It was bizarre watching him reverse the actual content of, really, what were policy statements. First China is a great partner and the USA will help them expand. Then in the next country, China has to be contained. And so on... Meanwhile, the State Dept. and foreign ambassadors in the US were confirming that nobody knows what the policy is.

What road do you think people are going down?

That's fair, and I hadn't really considered it like that. Good point.

As to Norks, is that ethnocentrist? Isn't it just a shortened form of North Korean?
Though, I suppose that's exactly what "japs" is, and I'd say that would be pretty clearly jingoistic language.

So again, point taken. Maybe don't leave these threads after all...
