He'd just take all their talent to South Beach.

The so called King will never be able to buy the Cavs. In fact, I'd bet under Dan Gilbert's steady and skillful leadership, they'll buy multiple teams before the so called King even buys one.

I say let him. the guy has been playing for 15 years now, his time is running low and if he wants to keep contributing to Cleveland then good for him.

Had a red one just like that. Bought used with 70k miles. Drove it for 3 months. Was on the highway and the engine light came on. I thought, "crap, I'll have to stop at the garage about 1/4 mile ahead". As I slowed down the engine sputtered and died. It had run itself out of oil and water in 3 months (both were full when I bought it) and had given me about a 15 second "warning" before total death. Still better than my Fiero...

If I own a business, and my employee offers to buy me out, I'm thinking I might be paying him too much.

so buy them or shut up about it

It would be a terrible decision imho to buy a team that he plays on. His marketability makes the team he plays on instantly more valuable. He'd be better off going to Portland for two years, "retire", buy the Cavs, and unretire.

Someone asked him a question and he answered it.

His sponsorship money is what would allow him to buy the team.

lol.... Curry is the least important member on that squad.   Durant beat them, last year, and Green is the most important player.

See, this is the anti-business philosophy that insecure, undeserving capitalists push on you.

Say you've been paying him so much he buys the business from you.

A) You're getting a ton of that pay right back.

B) If you negotiate fair value and have increased the value of your business over time -- ie, if you're competent -- then you're going to make a huge return on your investment.

C) If you're really good at that business, you can open a new competing business and out-compete him, anyway. Terrific. If you're not really good at that business, you did the right thing by selling it at a profit.

There's no downside here unless you're bad at business and should not have been running the place and employing anyone to begin with.

FTFA: The three-time champion has earned $203.7 million in NBA contracts, and he's made loads more as a businessman and brand ambassador.

I feel like businessman is such a weird term in 2017.  It's basically used as a way for reporters to call black men smart.  You can't read an article about Mayweather without them calling him a businessman. He may be constantly on the verge of bankruptcy all the time, but he's a businessman.

Just seems weird.

It was also the one thing Trump was presumed to be semi-competent at, and what the GOP runs on all the time.
