Is there body cam footage?

If yes, I'll need to see it or have some reliable third party see it to form an opinion on what happened.

If no, cops probably sparked him up goin' all tazey tazey give me your answer do.

JFC! Didn't it occur to the officer that tazing someone covered in gasoline is a VERY BAD IDEA?

The Bookworm Returns: JFC! Didn't it occur to the officer that tazing someone covered in gasoline is a VERY BAD IDEA?

Yeah, well one Lindsay officer got first and second degree burns to his hands and face. He was taken to the hospital and has since been released. So he gets a few months off to recover from those blisters while the man was burnt pretty bad, beyond recognition.

It all evens out.

Tompkins said, "He was sitting in his vehicle when they got there and started dousing himself with gasoline inside the vehicle." He said the man stepped out, holding a lighter. "It appears he turned to go back into the vehicle and the Lindsay officer tased him."
Flames ignited and the man burned to death. "He was burnt pretty bad, beyond recognition," said Detective Tompkins.

Brought to you by the Lindsay Department of We're Not Really Farking Helping.

Why does it seem like most police these days are either outright homicidal or dildo-in-the-ear stupid?

/or both

I'm guessing that cops all keep fire extinguishers in their trunks. Maybe they could have gone for that when they saw the guy dousing himself in gasoline.

I was trying to find a gif from a movie where a cop set a guy on fire, but this was on the page:

The officers found the man parked off the road on 100th Street. It was right on the border of McClain and Garvin County.

"Drop it, dickhead. It's the police."
"You won't hurt me."
"Oh, yeah? Why not?"
"Because you're a policeman. There are rules for policemen."
"Yeah, that's what my captain keeps telling me."

Not debating that fact, but consider that there are many more cops out there who won't do that shait.   Condemning all because of some is not right.

Well, it's not a fact -- 9 out of 10 is a figure I made up. But seriously -- I don't give a shiat that there are good and decent cops. Anytime you call the police on someone, you are toying with their lives.  And if that person is suicidal, they are as good as dead. More often than not a "welfare check" results in a fatality

The US Government from the Federal level on down to the local Municipalities all have one thing in common: They are no longer here to serve and protect the Citizens, but to deprive as many of their lives, liberty and property as they can

Its designed to be used in riot control situations where flash bangs, tire fires etc are possible so it's as inert as they can make it, unfortunately for the guy in the article I linked its also designed to be very persistant which is why protesters hit by it have a real hard time washing it off

Taser was one of the best weapons in that game. You could just sit there and burn them lol.

Perfect Dark for N64's laser gun had a secondary function as a steady stream that was amusing as hell to burn people with.
