This is the sort of shiat people are talking about when they argue that traffic laws are more about revenue generation than actual safety.   This guys license should have been perma-gone after his first DUI on a restricted license.

You get 6 months jail time for repeated DUI offences in this country. I'm amazed you guys don't do that, given that you lock people up for small scale weed offences...

Someone I know's sibling has almost 20 of them and still drives. It became all to clear when I learned of the sizable donations their dad made to FOP.

Ima4nic8or: Until we get serious about drunk driving and start allowing the death penalty for repeat drunk drivers

Again, not defending the action, but are you saying that you are for the death penalty in crimes that do not result in the death of another?

Aside from the putting people's lives at risk part, this is actually a really sad story.  Dude literally admitted drinking just to get drunk.  At 64, his chance at full recovery is slim.

Don't get me wrong - I have no sympathy for DUI, but this level of alcoholism is no joke.

Time for him to move...
Cops know what he drives and where he " hangs"..,
Kinda like shooting fish in a barrel...

At some point you'd think they'd just start giving him the max sentence each time.

I submitted the story from different news outlet twice because this guy needs to be publicly shamed. There is something wrong with him.

SuperChuck: According to the Star Tribune, Bettcher, a construction worker has likely broken the state record for the number of drunken driving arrests.

The state must be so proud. Good work there Minnesota

If it were Wisconsin that would just be the average.

A little thing like having a license taken isn't going to stop some people.

CSB - in the early 90s I worked with two guys that had lost their licenses until this century because of the combination of DUIs and driving with suspended licenses.
