My reaction whenever the buzz word, "machine-learning" comes up at work...

"Maybe we should work on data clarity before assuming something else is going to come in and clean up the mess our analysts are allowed to propagate in our data sets?"

How would we go about actually assembling our self-conscious machine? Applying what we know about Theory of Mind and disconnected modules, the first thing we would build is an awareness program. These are quite simple and already exist in spades.
