Tax Boy: The Shaft reboot has a script by black-ish creator Kenya Barris, and will star Samuel L. Jackson in the role of John Shaft,

Samuel L Jackson is nearly 70 years old.

If you loved Harrison Ford as Elderly Indiana Jones or Old Han Solo, you'll love Senior Citizen Shaft!

Richard Roundtree is 75.

Wake me when Netflix has all the Rudy Ray Moore/Dolemite films up.

I could really watch Shaft's Big Score back to back with The Human Tornado.

Netflix Makes 'Shaft' Reboot Deal That Could Change The Model For Urban-Themed Films

I get irrationally angry when that phrase or variation of it is used. It reminds of Mr. Plinketts dressing down of it for being a dog whistle:

Now Hollywood and advertisers have a term they use to avoid being called racists. The term they use is the "Urban Market". Now the Urban Market once stole my TV, so I know they like movies.

I live in the heart of a major city, but if a media executive looked at me the first thing in their marketing mind wouldn't be "Urban market"

mcmnky: buntz: How is this a reboot if Sam Jackson is playing the same character he played last time.
Isn't this a sequel?
And last time he was a playing a relative of the original Shaft.  So wouldn't that also be a sequel?

And the last time Sam Jackson played Shaft it sucked out loud.

You bite your whore tongue. Jeffrey Wright and Christian Bale devouring the scenery as the villains was hands down the best part of that movie, and well worth the trip.

The Flexecutioner: @BullBearMS: The Long Kiss Goodnight is woefully underrated. Really only 'tarnished' by a mediocre-to-disappointing villain/nemesis. but it was such a badass movie.

I liked the movie where he played "kinda Shaft" costarring with Gina Davis.

FBI cyber security expert.

Um........

I want this to be good, and I know that the world is different than in the 1970s but still.....

Here's the problem with Hollywood every movie about crime has to be a techno thriller when the truth is PIs still do the same old things. Sure we do cyber checks and use gps tracking but nothing has replaced surveillance and actual sources. Those are where all the good things happen

Actually Subby, from my experience, if you want to "get the shaft" your mouth needs to be open.

At least that's how your mother taught me.
