"You'd be embarrassed to ask Bob Mueller for a leak," said the veteran journalist Steven Brill, who has written extensively about media coverage of special counsels. "It'd be like asking him to watch a porn movie with you."

Isn't watching a porn movie rumored to be part of the investigation? I heard it involved a leak.

I was going to make a joke about that part of TFA, but now...it just doesn't seem worth it anymore.

On one hand, there has to be something to nail this cabal on. On the other hand, the head investigator made a living keeping his head in the sand saying, "Nope, nothing questionable here! No war crimes being done, and what are you worried about if you have nothing to hide, peasants? Carry on, fellas!"

What's sad is that, when I hear someone say "You libruls are gonna hate the next 8 years heehee", I'm instinctively happy that they've only said 8 years, and not openly wished for the suspension of the constitution that would allow an indefinite number of years for Trump, or have him declared president for life, or whatever.

So that's nice.

THIS.

Remember folks--If his case was thin, Mueller would be talking to the press ALL THE TIME. That has not been the case.

Seriously, garbage bags labeled 'brain injury' and 'sniper fire'? The only change should be flipping the names on the dumpsters and renaming the bag from 'Benghazi' to 'Firing Comey'. Plus, the Benghazi incident is not a festering secret, it would be a series of dissected frog organs in jars.

Well, if Trump isn't faking the dementia symptoms, he probably isn't going to able to read in 2 years and be able to speak in 3. Probably will do the goofy hand signals from the grave though.

You mean he doesn't want to leak information so the potential perpetrators have time to build up a defense/hide evidence/further discredit the investigators?

He also did ask if anyone knew a good lab in Helsinki that good extract DANA from a urine soaked bedsheet.

Here's a story based on a leak, of something, from somewhere

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/10/emails-suggest-manafort-sought-approval-from-putin-ally-deripaska/541677/

Nothing really ... new, I guess. I think it's been widely reported before that Manafort had kinda been having some financially rough times in 2016 and he'd hoped to help manipulate Trump to reverse his fortunes. (Can't remember if I heard this on Maddow or here on Fark or somewhere or if I leapt to this conclusion on my own, but it seems possible his money issues were engineered by Russia for this express purpose, as part of a 'long game'...?)

This story kind of depresses me, though. The takeaway could be "Manafort's the only bad apple, Trump was just a naïf" if the investigation somehow doesn't make it much farther than Manafort or if Trump's deniability is plausible.

Let's unpack this:
Clinton Foundation... gets high marks when reviewed.
Trump Foundation.... so crooked the NY State attorney general wouldn't allow it to be shut down until after the investigation

Email Scandal....Jared Kushner Used Private Email In Trump Administration, Lawyer Confirms

Foreign donations... lol  Special counsel probing flow of Russian-American money to Trump political funds

and that leaves Benghazi!.... best I can do for equivalence, I think... SEAL, American Girl Die in First Trump-Era U.S. Military Raid

Trump at some level went along with this. He wasn't smooth talking Putin, and trying to get sanctions reversed at the start of his administration because he's "just went along with what his advisors said."

It is a worthwhile question to ask him in roughly what time frame he expects to give a report, possibly even a preliminary one. I understand why he may not want to give an answer, but if it isn't going ro be for a year or more, that is important information in an of itself for the business of the nation.

Good. Don't let them know when you're going to pull the lever on the guillotine.

2017-10-02 02:07:19 PM
The Trump camp needs there to be leaks because previous investigations have been stymied from leaks, so Trump's lawyers are pretending there are leaks to undermine witnesses, evidence and open the door for counter-suits. That's the only gambit they have: If the investigation is compromised, Trump can walk.

So Mueller won't be compromised.

Right. He's being informed about cyber attacks and his policy move is for closeness that would financially benefit a few former administration employees. If he was duped before why did he remain duped after those people left?
