LewDux: gopher321: dittybopper: Sure, as long as you write fiction.

Barry Seal was never in the employ of the CIA.  Ever.  He worked for Pablo Escobar, and then the DEA while still smuggling for the Medellin Cartel.  The only CIA involvement was the installation of cameras on his aircraft while he was working for the DEA.  It appears to have been either a "piggy-back" operation, or merely technical support, or most likely a combination of both.

That's it.

Now tell us how the CIA never trafficked government cheese AIDS drugs to inner cities.

Is Code Red some made up strain of heroin?  That certainly explains why the general ordered it.

FLMountainMan: Mikey1969: Vaginosilicosis: Mikey1969: Looks kind of fun, and considering how much of a mess Tom Cruise made of his career, that's saying a lot.

You serious?   Sure the guy is a huge tool but look at his IMDB page, its pretty much solid hits from 1981 to present.   Unlike most actors, even great ones, where there are large swaths of crap, stuck in a franchise rut into its descent into direct to video,  voice acting bits and the like Cruise doesn't have a gap of more than 1-2 years of no work or stretches of multiple clunkers in a row.

Can't believe I'm defending the guy cause he is weird as fark, but his career is pretty hard to disparage.   Hard to find many others with such a hit/miss ratio.

Nope, he had about a 5 year spread where everybody was sick and tired of hearing about him and seeing him, right around the jumping in Oprah's couch thing. He became the last person a lot of people wanted to see in a movie, and his shiat got predictable and boring on top of that. Sure, he had hits, but that doesn't mean that HE was a hit. You're gonna have a certain percentage that get suckered in to the right kind of movies, and he kinda floated on that for awhile.

Did you strain something moving those goalposts and splitting those hairs?

peterthx: gopher321: Now tell us how the CIA never trafficked drugs to inner cities, then forcibly strapped down minorties and injected them with the drugs to get them addicted. Then formed the gangs that sold the drugs to those addicts.

FIFY

The CIA has to have the worst track record of any government organization in history.  The willful stupidity it takes to believe there was actually some grand conspiracy to devastate minorities in the inner cities because the government wanted to spend trillions to rehabilitate them, or wanted to encourage gentrification (while also encouraging white flight), whatever, that stupidity is bad enough, but to believe the CIA could even pull it off is ridiculous.

That conclusion is one of their crowning successes.
